Huntin' Beetles

Postby Omorose » Sun Jan 31, 2010 1:00 pm

Greetings ATITD-ians,

Right, so I'm about a week old now and I am just starting the Test of Khefer's Children, I believe it's called.

I think I have learned now that I should not go by what the Wiki says. :/ I have been running around in circles in the spot that Burrowing beetles should be at, but I have not seen any yet. And I know that they are hard to miss. It seemed really easy, just spot on and pounce on it.
Is there something that I need to do to attract them?

Thanks,

Omorose

The spawning of wild beetles is totally random, I don't know who told you that there's a "spot" for Burrowing beetles. Once they spawn they only stay around for a couple of minutes at most. In other words: finding a wild beetle is 100% luck.

The good news is that wild beetles are not "owned" by the person who finds them, but by the person who puts them in a Terrarium. So, is you ask around you'll probably find someone who has wild beetles that haven't been put in a Terrarium yet, so if they give it to you you can still "own" them 100% and start breeding them.

I wish I had more luck then, hehe. I'll keep in mind about asking other people for help, I just want to see if I can do this on my own first. :q
Thank you for your help!

Getting them on your own takes a good chunk of time... The good thing is you don't have to do anything special as you're playing you'll eventually run into one, but it might take a couple months. You can probably get a breeding pair for free/cheap from other players which still leaves you all the real work of breeding them to do by yourself.

Yes, I think that that is what I will do.. I actually found beetles that were given away. Too bad they were already in a Keifer's Locker (is that the name?) so they weren't 'unowned'.

But now I'm having trouble making the Terrium. =P charcoal is hard to make, I can't wait to try making the glass! [/sarcasm]
Hee hee.. But it's good that I am in a Guild. When I find myself in the gutter, I know that they will help me up. ^_^-

Being in a Kehfre's Locker doesn't make them owned. Someone has to have put them in a terrarium (so you might still be in luck).
