Thought Test: Test of the Step Pyramid

The puzzle designer creates a 3d maze inside a Step Pyramid. The object is to get the huge diamond in the step pyramid out thru one of the hole(s) on the pyramid face.

To make the maze, the player selects the blocks to be hollowed out, leaving just the walls of the block, and the faces of the blocks to remove to make the passageways. The player will rotate the pyramid to cause the diamond to fall down the passageway to the next wall below (or exit). The designer will design the # of moves (rotations) the maze must be completed within to be successful, and must test play to show possible to open it.

The player will be able to look at cross-section view x-axis, y-axis, z-axis centered on the diamond (looking do not count as a move, only rotations). If the player solves the puzzle is less than the designed # of moves, the player may keep the huge diamond as a prize, or honestly return it to the puzzle. The puzzle designer may load extra huge diamonds in a back-up hopper, as the puzzle will not be playable if there is no longer a diamond inside.

A good puzzle will be challenging with hints on the maze gained by using cross-section views while solving. A poor puzzle would just have a linear route out.
