Guilds/Vitreous Humour

Vitreous Humour is much as the name suggests; we are a guild with a strong focus on glass manufacture, and our primary aim is to provide the best facilities we possibly can to serve both novice and expert as efficiently and comfortably as possible.

As such, we have taken care to situate our facilities so that they are easily accessible from the chariot stop in Stillwater, selected because it is readily accessible from many populous regions. We are not too long a journey from the white sand deposits in that region, but since a closer placement to that resource would have brought our facilities too far from the chariot, we've instead decided to collect and supply white sand to guild members via warehouse.

Our Glazier's Benches have been tested, and re-constructed when necessary, to ensure that each has an optimal Heat and Drop Value which is also consistent with its fellow benches for ease of use when running two or more benches simultaneously. The Glory Hole compound is placed as close to the chariot and other guild facilities as possible, while still far enough from structure congestion to avoid deadly lag when blowing quality glass items.

Projects

Right now our primary aims are:

• improving our existing facilities and adding new ones as suits the needs of our members
• helping interested new glass-makers develop their skills
• providing easier trade options between those who make glass, and those who wish to trade for it
• helping to share experience, advice, and ideas among all glass-makers
• contributions to research and community projects-- particularly pyramids! Remember, we need many glass rods to facilitate the construction of these vastly beneficial structures
• organizing group events to dig Limestone/Soda

Guild Facilities

Glazier's Bench Compound (1409,2885)

This compound contains a cornerstone, so like the Fleet Furnace compound, it is likely to expand and contain additional structures the guild may wish to construct. There is one warehouse on the premises, which contains various materials for construction and repair, as well as White Sand for guild members' convenience in manufacture of jewel glass.

• 1 Crematory, labelled
• 20 Kettles for making Potash
• 5 dedicated kettles for Salt, with 5 - 15 more planned, as well as a number of dedicated Acid kettles.
  • The purpose of our dedicated kettles is to allow players lacking the Dessication skill levels to make Salt or Acid-- while not too greatly limiting the number of kettles that can be run simultaneously for making Potash in bulk. We will place these near the Potash kettles in case players wish to run yet more kettles of Potash (you just can't have too much Potash), but if you wish to change a dedicated kettle for this purpose, please set it back to its original purpose or post in the guild chat if you do not have the Dessication levels yourself.

Glory Hole Compound (1273,2973)

• 2 Glory Holes (Too many? Too few? Please let us know your thoughts!)
• not too far from the chariot; far from lag sources
• contains a chest with maintenance mats (it needs them; please maintain this lonely compound when visiting, if it is convenient for you to do so)
• there is a fortuitously placed Firepit near this compound; it was re-claimed from a previous player and while not very well-located, is free for guild members' use

Fleet Furnace Compound (1356,3079)

This compound contains a Cornerstone.

We like to make Quicksilver as often as we can. Guild members are welcome to use quicksilver for their own purposes, though we ask that you feed the furnaces when possible (red sand and charcoal is also provided for members' use). Please make note in the guild chat whenever you do this, so other members can easily judge how long the furnaces will continue to run.
