Discussions about how to share our first guild raeli oven...

Shiva: well i baked a few for my principles 
Shiva: but i assumed it was for our guild stock 
Spicy: yeah sure, I expect everyone will :) 
Spicy: Guild stock? 
Shiva: yeah for TI to keep track 
Shiva: i burned 52 WS and elft them in the oven 
Spicy: why? 
Shiva: if someone needs them he can see like , there is some tiles in that oven 
Shiva: and just get them for their mosaic or something 
Spicy: And what if people want to burn tiles and trade them? 
Shiva: well i didnt knew it was for that 
Spicy: Should we take this to TI chat and get more input? 
Shiva: yeah i think so 
Shiva: good to know what the others expect from it

Spicy: So... this raeli oven :) We've built it but not really agreed how we're going to use it as a guild... 
Spicy: And chatting with Nore and zis and Shiva a bit, it seems we all have slightly different expectations, so I think it would be good to discuss those 
Ume: Well I have no idea really Spicy so ill observe :) 
Spicy: For instance - what if someone wants to burn it all the time for passing funerary temple? And is it ok to burn tiles for trade? Should TI keep stock and share out with members somehow or is it a free for all? 
Sariel hasnt contributed anything to it either so will be quiet too for a change 
Spicy: Well if you have an opinion share it, might help us decide what's best

zisoni: Well it certainly isn't fair for one person to burn it all the time :) I'd like to get a 2nd up at least, trying to collect resin for that 
Spicy: Or just say how you thought it might work? 
Ume: Is it likely to be something that people initially all want then will sit idle? 
Sariel: as a guild project - as this has been i believe? - i think someone should be oven master and burn the tiles to get reasonable quanitities - and those should be shared out 
Sariel: i think a free for all - wouldnt really work - not at this stage in the telling 
zisoni: Shared out among whome though? there's a hell of a lot of people in the guild, some of whome don't contribute to guild stuff at all, pretty harsh to make one person do all the work for people to sit on their arses to benefit ;) 
Sariel: i meant shared between those who contributed to the making of :) 
Sariel: preferably on a ratio of effort too 
Spicy: But shared between people who put in also isn't fair, it makes the guild more unequal, and what about peole who come along after they are all built? 
Shiva: i think for the common use for little things we can just share a bit since it doesnt require a lot of things , if someone is going for temple they might need to build their own , or make an agreement with the rewst for the use of the guild ovens 
zisoni: Would be better to ask people to leave a % of each burn they make to the guild maybe for others to take as needed? 
Babayaga agrees with the sharing of a % 
Spicy: how would that work in practice Baba? And shared between whom? 
Babayaga: with the guild. Like the rest 
Spicy: Should we have some sort of booking system to use it? And share between people who want tiles atm, or something? 
Spicy: With the whole of TI? 
Babayaga: members, yes 
Spicy: There are currently 78 people in TI - so we burn and divide it into 78 chests?? 
Spicy: or however many are members 

Missed some of the discussion - maybe have a WH for the shared tiles. Squi suggested making tiles into sets that members could trade with the guild for.

Spicy: The "share with the guild" is very ... woolly 
Shiva: it is but if noone needs a lot we can probably just settle with agreemnets if someone only needs a few hundred everytime 
Spicy: And how do people let the guild know they'd like some tiles? 
Shiva: we appear to have a chat channel ;)

Spicy: What if we eldered it, people book to use it and say what they are burning, so we get an idea of who wants tiles and people can then agree who will burn and share which? 
Shiva: yeah i was thinking of somethign like that aswell 
Shiva: maybe some sort of list on the wiki who needs what colours 
Shiva: and just burn and share a bit between those 

Spicy: We didn't really get so far in deciding about the oven :/ 
zisoni: What did you have in mind Spicy? 
Spicy: I didn't 
Spicy: Only everyone has a different idea of how they think it will work 
Spicy: I don't understand what Baba meant 
Spicy: I didn't like the ATL set up in T3, it was too hard to be able to use the ovens and trade 
zisoni: I think she meant that each person donates a % of what the burn to the guild which is held in a /wh for everyone to use, which is kind of how i was thinking, but not sure how that will work in practice cos people may just take from that w/o burning colours themselves,,,,,but then we have no way of making sure everyone donates a % of what they burn either, it's a difficult one 
Spicy: I'm not keen on a system that needs alot of admin 
Spicy: But for a few months at the start maybe we need to have some system? I dunno 
Spicy: Maybe people book to use it? So can't use it if they didn't contrinbute cos they'll be embarrassed to ask? :p

zisoni: Not sure exactly who contributed, but there weren't that many of us :P

zisoni: I think an agreement to donate 10% of burned tiles to an eldered w/h would be good too 
Spicy: is that needed if people are saying what they need and we just encourage them to work it out? 
zisoni: we can maybe use those for trade for stuff for guild projects

Spicy: Would it work to put this conversation and the one from TI chat on the raeli oven discussion page so other guildies can see what we've discussed? 
zisoni: That way the guild gets some benefit too
