Coarse fibers produced from [[flax]] processing. Primarily used to spin into [[twine]] (and then into [[canvas]] or [[rope]]).

== Source ==
Obtained by raking [[requires::Rotten_Flax|rotten flax]] on a [[requires::Flax Comb]] or a [[requires::Hackling Rake]]. Tow is the second byproduct of rotten flax.

== Uses ==

* Used for compound expansion.
* Spun in a [[Small Distaff]] or [[Large Distaff]], produces 3 [[Twine]] per 1 tow.
