The Test Of Flight
Build a bunker that launches bird-shaped gliders out into the landscape.
Pick a topographically interesting location because the gliders hug the terrain, and do loops off of cliffs. Gliders crash over water and can smack into the ground if the angle is too steep, or the loop is in an unlucky spot.

Gliders can have smoke trails, although rendering doesn't work for everyone yet. (one time 100 gunpowder upgrade)

There is a flaw in the glider tracking that means you can't see a glider after it's left your sight, even if it returns to your vision range later. These gliders will easily go beyond the horizon if the terrain doesn't constrain them.

The Gliders flight (can) looks different for each person watching them, because the impact of buildings on terrain is clientside (should be fixed)
Raeli Gliderport Requirements (small construction site):

95 Steel Sheeting (Housing)
4 Metalblue (Glider Airframe)
500 Raeli Tiles of any color (Protects the mechanism)
400 Concrete (Base)
2 Medium Gears (Launch Mechanism)
40 Steel Wire (Springs, Glider Airframe)
1 Silk Cloth (Glider Skin)
Building that gives you 1 glider. Additional gliders cost

10 steelwire
4 metal blue
1 silk cloth.
