I wanted to update this entry to include the kind of information I wish I'd had from the beginning.  As has already been mentioned, each person (avatar) will end up with different reactions.  Therefore, for any reaction that involves a catalyst, each person will have a different recipe for that colour of paint.  In these situations, you cannot use somebody else's recipe and expect to end up with the same colour.
