Beer Calculator is a spreadsheet for Excel 2010 for predicting the results of beer recipes. Hekatef wrote it and periodically updates it as yeast data is researched.

Latest Version

  • Muddled flavor calculation should now work properly.
  • 41 yeasts available for calculation.

Technical Issues

Unzipping the downloaded file causes a "the archive is corrupt" error message for some users. Zhukuram has observed this seems to be related to browser security settings, and offers this workaround:

  • In your browser, open Tools - Internet Options - Advanced.
  • Scroll to HTTP 1.1 settings.
  • Uncheck any boxes with a check (there are usually 2).
  • Restart your browser.
  • Download the file.
  • After the file is downloaded, return to the Internet Options window and re-check the boxes.

Please feel free to use this page to discuss any issues relating to the download, unzipping, and use of the file. Together we'll make this thing work perfectly!

Issue with muddled flavour - Solaris

When checking for muddled flavour, the spreadsheet does not take into account the flavours not above 200, in other words it only considers the flavours that would normally appear in the beer description.
