'''Clinker''' is a waste byproduct of [[smelting]] ore in a [[Furnace]]. If you have the [[Masonry]] tech, then you will receive it, along with the finished metal, at the end of the smelting process; all of the ore that is not converted to metal becomes clinker.

Largely worthless, it is used in conjunction with [[bauxite]] and [[gypsum]] in a [[Clinker Vat]] to produce [[cement]]. You will probably generate far more clinker in the process of smelting metals than you will ever need for cement production.

Only if you possess the [[Masonry]] tech will a furnace produce clinker for you. (Presumably, characters without the tech don't recognize its potential use and automatically discard it.)
