Welcome to A Wiki in the Desert, a wiki for the online game A Tale in the Desert.

Egypt time currently is: time.php.png ?

Make sure to check the "Remember my login on this computer" setting in your preferences.

How to Log In

If you have problems logging in and have no other means of contact, please chat FaceAnkh ingame.

Before you can log in you must set your webpass in game: Log into the game and type /webpass atitd.org <password> (meaning you replace <password> with your password. Don't type the < > unless you really want that in your password) .

Once you have created a web pass you log in here with "Login with OpenId" (top right).

Your open id is atitd.org/openid/<Name> (without the <>).

You should be sent to a page to then type in your account name and password you set in game with the webpass command. If you logged in to openid recently, it won't ask again.

To prevent having to go through the ordeal again, check the "Remember my login on this computer" setting in your preferences.

Other OpenID providers will not work anymore, this is intentional (if you did use another provider, create a new username for the atitd provider and add yourself to OpenIDrenames, hopefully an admin can combine them together). The reason that OpenID is being used is that it allows for one simple central spot to hook into the webpass system. Any fansite can simply hook into this from now on. It's all a bit finicky now, but it will improve over time.

Using the Wiki

Tale 4 Live has started and so has the Tale 4 wiki. Please add comments on other problems with the wiki or other co-hosted sites at Server Improvements.

This wiki exists to document the game and to provide a community scratchpad for the players. You can find guides on things such as growing Flax, an Atlas of interesting places, and various personal pages created by the Users and Guilds. If you're looking to buy and sell, try Trading.

Anyone with an ATITD game account can edit any page on this site. However, please read the Style Guide and information on Formatting first. Politics are not welcome (exception: Users pages, but no personal attacks please) -- if you want to discuss laws, please use the Forums. Please read our Policies before editing. If you have any difficulties, please contact a wiki admin.

If you have a suggestion for how to improve the wiki, please add it to the Suggestions page. If you want to contribute but don't know where, take a look at the Spotlight page, or just browse around and look for pages where your input would be beneficial.

Improving the Wiki

Right now, there is only a fraction of the content on the new wiki that was on the old ones. If you can spend even a few minutes adding a little something, that would be a big help. Starting here, for example.

Also, the new software is a little different than the old wikis, so things may be a bit rough until we all get used to it. Anyone that's familiar with editing Wikipedia should feel at home, however.

Getting Help

Consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.
