The Desert Obelisk was the first obelisk type available to the people of Egypt. It is built to pass the Test of the Obelisk (or the principle thereof), or simply for decoration.

This type of obelisk requires bricks, boards, clay, dried flax, flint, linen, and slate to build. As with all obelisks, it is built in a Small Construction Site, where the builder defines the size of the obelisk-to-be in cubits. The taller the obelisk, the greater the material requirements.

This building becomes available when you learn the Obelisk Construction* tech. You must also have started the Test of the Obelisk.

*Note that this tech CANNOT be taught. You must learn it from the University.
