'''''Tell us a little about yourself and what you like about ATITD'''''

I've been playing Atitd since early Tale 3 and have spent many hours enjoying both the friends I have made and the game itself. As an Australian based player I meet many 'night owls' in this game who enjoy ATITD at various random late hours.  I play for fun and when I am able.  I travel a lot for work and, like this game, find myself waiting around at Chariot Stops, fondly called Airports in the real world, with time to kill.

ATITD is a tool to share some laughs, chat, run around doing insane things to pass tests, help other fellow guildies and players, a bit of reasoning to understand the processes and not to mention the grind necessary to achieve!

'''''What you feel is the role of a DP'''''

I believe the role of DP in the game has been evolving over the last 3 tales and basically forms part of your achievements toward supporting your fellow players if and when asked to.  Given that this is a game I believe the role needs to be approached with an open mind and an understanding that you can only do what the players you are working with are willing to allow you to achieve.

I have some detailed responses to components of this questions if you are interested to continue reading my comments below.

'''''Why I think people should vote for me'''''

You know, I don't really think it is for me to assume that people should vote for me, all I can do is move forward and await the outcome.  I haven't spent hours running around to every chariot stop to announce to the whole of the game player base that I am here and running for DP - I personally don't like doing that.  I also haven't posted numerous messages on E! or Regional channels about the upcoming election.

Again, if you care to know more about me and are considering whether to vote for me please continue to read below.

Hi Egypt

For all those interested in knowing a little more about me and my thoughts on ATITD the Game and who I am I have put together comments below and also a few of the discussion points and things I was asked to comment on during the recent voting round which saw me go through as a candidate in the coming DP Election.  If there is something specific you would like to ask me then please chat me and I will respond either immediately or when I am next online.

I am an Australian player, you may not know me personally as time zones are a little wacky when you live in the 'future' as we do here. I am virtually one real life calendar day ahead of the US and 3/4 of a day ahead of Europe - this means I am mostly online at the same time as other Australian's, New Zealand and Asian players.  However I do cross over later my time with a number of US states and also European players.  At this point I have not heard of any discussion around a possible DP debate so this may be the best way to both offer some comments and make it clear that I am receptive to questions from the player base.

To begin with I would like to say a few things about the role of DP's and really state clearly my concerns over the whole idea that this voting system is anything other than a part of the game.  A game in which we should be relaxed and comfortable.

Since joining ATITD early in Tale 3 I have seen countless DP's elected, a select few were very good in their roles!  What I have mostly seen is the "popular" player syndrome whereby the election becomes nothing but an outcome based on 'who has the most friends'. I ask myself if this the way it should be?  I don't believe in making a miriad of promises or predictions about how I would handle things other than we a calm and thoughtful approach if I was contacted to assist and possibly mediate on an ingame problem.

Asking the question 'would you ban somebody' really is just that - a question!  If a DP if asked to mediate a perceived problem and after considering all sides and versions of the problem does places a ban there is always an uproar, on the other hand if they don't initiate a ban there is still an uproar!  So the question most often asked in previous debates around this topic rarely changes and generally seems to be the main focal point that everybody wants answered.  In my years of playing there have only been a few bans initiated and I would hope that through calm discussions they could be generally avoided.

Or alternatively, 'tell us about yourself'.  At this point one would have to ask 'who knows if what they tell us is fact or fiction' - hello... they are anonymously typing on a keyboard at some place on this planet!

Trillian: Hi all , this is my morning time am in the UK so am not sure if will be on alot when everyone else is around, just will say briefly, I would echo what dreasimy says about role of DP being a public service, I do think I would be a open minded and fair DP but I've no great desire to be one. I do have great interest in who becomes the DP though and would like to particpate fully in the voting process and to that end I look forward to hearing from everyone who has an interest to move forward from this round. I would have a question to Dreasimy, well two - your name is really annoying, to spell I really wish to type dreamisy everytime - was it a typo initially ;), apologise in advance because I am bound to spell it wrongly at soem point if not already done so :)), and to more serious question , the alst DP election you were in the penutlimate round with orrin shu keko etc I remeber catching a bit of th debate on E over the whole situation, do you feel the confusion and drama on E was neccessary, looking back would you change anything of the part you played in it. I should say after reading and re reading shu's wiki'd copies of conversations with keko etc I do think what keko said was taken out of context and there was a misscommuniation over exactly what he had been trying to say with regards to how the voting would go, I dont think su missinterpreted on prupose Im sure he believed what he read, I think 'benefit of the doubt' should be given much more in this game boiling points seem to blow up over nothing at times , atitd has a vast amount of very confident almost arrogant palyers who are much more self assured than I ever feel in game and certainly out, I think its a good thing to be confident and wish I was more so but for within this game a little bit of self doubt and as i say giving benefit of the doubt would lessen the drama somewhat, giving people space to be wrong and back down helps deescalate situations, oh i tend to waffle sorry for long walls of text ;)

2 days 19 hours left in this Demi-Pharaoh round.

'''''Myna: Hi - following on from Trillian's comment above I tend to agree that people in this game need to consider before commenting.  Often over the years I have played I have seen some very harsh comments made with no regard to how the targeted person is left feeling.  It is often very difficult to judge a person via the text they type in a little box, words can become something entirely different to their original meaning if taken out of context.''

'''

'''''Myna: Larger than life personalities/profiles in game also play a huge part, remember you don't have to be well known to be a good DP.  If you look  at the functionality and role of a DP it has been argued by many over the years that they are to be a mediator, a calming voice, a settling hand.  All these things are something we should all aspire to whether we are DP's or not - seriously if we all just play the game, share, build teams, compete with the correct spirit and just calm down and think before speaking many of the situations we see in game would never occur!''

Arguz: Hello all :) I just rejoined the game not long ago and am very aware that there are a lot of people who would fill the role of a DP a lot better than I could. So I am not competing. Nevertheless I am also aware of the importance of making my vote count towards someone who I believe will benefit the community (or egypt :P) most. This is a hard decision, for me at least, as I do believe that only someone that does not want all that power should get all that power.

Arguz: Most people who do actually want to become DP will do so with good intentions I believe. The question I ask myself is weather they know themselves good enough? You speech is inspiring Dreasimy, nevertheless I do feel that you should consider more the "you" than the "I". Which means I do not care so much what you believe in, more so in weather you know what the community is interested in and then possibly what you care to do about that.

Arguz: And Trillian, a question for you, how deep does the desire not to become one go :) did that in fact mean you are not competing at all or did it mean you would become DP if you had to ;P

''***Time stamps removed***''

***A small section I missed capturing included a question from Argus to Myna and some responses from both Trillian and Dreasimy on whether or not she wanted to be considered for the role of DP.  Myna replied to Arguz she would be honoured to.***

''***Time stamps removed***''

Dreasimy: I wish Myna would address how she would handle certain situations as a DP, I gave a couple of examples where people were asking for bans (the swatika compound guy recently and also in general people have also brought it up about people who steal things from a guild they are in) do you have an opinions about how you as DP would have handled the same situations?

Dreasimy: I don't feel asking such questions is out of line or forcing someone to participate in the 'politics' banning is the only tangible thing that separates a DP from any other fair-minded citizen. I tried to ask those who wished to move forward to address that issue but maybe I should have been more direct? :)

'''''Myna: Hi Dreasimy, basically first and foremost we are playing a game. Anybody can type anything they want whilst they sit anonymously behind a keyboard on our great planet.  Like most people I play for enjoyment and as such keep things in check with reality.''

'''

'''''Myna: the Ban question has been asked so many times that I think it has worn itself out.  You are damned if you do BAN and damned if you don't.  I don't know the full circumstances of what you described so I have refrained from commenting.''

'''

Dreasimy: Basically someone built a swastika shaped compound, people got upset, one of the DP finalists 2 contests ago quit over it because his family was in concentration camps, people got mad because the builder wouldn't tear it down and asked DPs to ban him

'''''Myna: This DP component isn't even a test in its own rights now!  I will as always play the game fairly and honestly.  I don't believe in re-hashing other peoples issues once settled.'''''

Dreasimy: so Im curious if you even want to hypothetically comment on that or maybe some other situation where you would or would not ban someone ask DP

'''''Myna: read above I commented :)''

'''

Dreasimy: ask - as :)

Dreasimy: so you dont want o comment at all on what you would or would not ban for ever?

Dreasimy: because other people have talked about banning too much?

'''''Myna: Hypotheticals are something we can't comment on without jumping to conclusions, facts are facts.'''''

Dreasimy: right, I gave you some facts

'''''Myna: no you gave me your version.'''''

Dreasimy: no I dont think so, I think I boiled it down to observable facts or those available to the masses

Dreasimy: I kept my interpretation totally out of it

Dreasimy: but if you dont want to comment on it thats fine

'''''Myna: Look I am sorry that you are upset with other peoples choices but basically your comments were extremely lengthy and mine were short and simple.  I can't change the decisions and everybody is entitled to their opinion and votes.'''''

Dreasimy: Im not upset Myna, Im trying to find out if I can vote for you also, to do that I would need to know something about how you would fulfll the office specifically what you would and would not ban for

Dreasimy: you think people voted for you because my responses to questions directed to me personally were longer than general questions that you answered also?

Dreasimy: Im not upset, I often vote for someone else to move forward in DP, as I said I offer myself up to move forward and take the role *if* people want me to

Dreasimy: in this case they don't which is fine but I still need to vote, I can't vote for you if I dont have any idea how you would fulfill the office :D

'''''Myna: for me to exercise a Ban I would need to have all the facts, exhausted every avenue of counseling and then think long and hard before coming to that decision.  I believe everybody has the right to make their own choice in a fantasy world and we can only try and guide them.  Catastrophic issues would need to prevail.''

'''

Dreasimy: cool, I agree

'''''Myna: ok'''''

Dreasimy: I appeciate you answering the question.

Dreasimy: would it be fair to say you would err on the side of not banning versus taking other's words as fact

'''''Myna: again that is hypothetical.  Many things would need to be considered.  The DP moto should be:  don't make quick judgements, don't rush to BAN. Thank you for your chat :)'''''
