From A Tale in the Desert
Jump to navigationJump to search

Supplies Needed

  • Glass Rods (200-400 is a good starting number)
  • Lead Mallet
  • Cooked Food (Focus/Perception, Endurance)
  • Linen and Copper Wire (for construction site)

Find a Location

  • Find an area with all sand.
  • Avoid hills and mountains.
  • Sink your boreholes (if you can see the grid, you want these to be in the center of each coord) Start with a 20x20.

Finding Blocks

  • Eat perception/focus food (stack herbs as well, if possible)

Blocks List

  • List of blocks to find a pattern.

Ralomein's Block Chart (If this way of presenting my data isn't helpful, I can submit coords)

Theory: Limestone blocks are found in wavy lines, similar to many ore veins. There is no set pattern, but based on the tendencies of the curves, you can guess the approximate location of the next block. I've found 2 such veins already, the first one I found is the one in green - and later, another (cyan) that runs almost straight north/south with only a 1 coordinate shift to the east every couple of blocks. A 20x20 square sampling of blocks wouldn't show any tendencies as there isn't enough length to notice them.

UPDATE: I found another vein (Magenta) that duplicated the Cyan vein exactly, but shifted 4 coordinates east. The only exception to this duplication is a missing block in the Cyan vein on the north end. I searched a little for a duplicate pair to the green vein, but haven't found one yet. Also, a perfect horizontal vein was found, represented in yellow. Blocks shared by more than 1 vein are show in black. Current Tally: 54 blocks found using 95 rods without food.
