Dig Sites are used for the Test of the Archeologist from the University of Body.

They may appear anywhere.
They tend to be reported more in heavily trafficked areas, but this may be a detection bias.
They look like a large square of sand, with a smaller dig hole in the middle.
The dig hole appears very tiny at first, then grows until it is as large as a Tar Pit, then shrinks back to dust speck size (before disappearing?). The process takes quite some time. -TheMazeEcho-

Note: Do not confuse this with Digs which is when you dig for stones and dirt.

If you are carrying an Archaeologist's Shovel, you may attempt to dig up a Relic.

How many times you must dig will depend on the quality of your shovel and your current Perception and Dexterity stats.
The hole may collapse before you find a relic.
I was not able to dig it with -7 Perception -Min-

They do tend to reoccur in the same locations, so please enter the information if you come across one.
