Dig Sites are used for the Test of the Archeologist from the University of Body.

  • They may appear anywhere.
  • They appear where a few people have recently been. As a result, they tend to be reported more heavily nearer Chariot Stops and along roads.
  • They are found in a large square of sand (regardless of the terrain it's on), with a smaller dig hole in the middle.
  • The dig hole appears very tiny at first, then grows until it is as large as a Tar Pit, then shrinks back to dust speck size (before disappearing?). It takes about 2 real hours/6 game hours to get from small to large.

Note: Do not confuse this with Digs which is when you dig for stones and dirt.

If you are carrying an Archaeologist's Shovel, you may attempt to dig up a Relic.

  • How many times you must dig will depend on the quality of your shovel and your current Perception and Dexterity stats.
  • The hole may collapse before you find a relic.
  • I was not able to dig it with -7 Perception -Min-
