A Golden Sigil is a complex item used in the test Hand of Ra. It has no functionallity by itself and is only valuable as a component used in the creation of Sigils of Ra, which is a charming amulet used for reducing the chance of collapse while expanding Mirror Pyramids. However, the component Golden Sigil is a tradeable item and may be used by other players in their Sigils of Ra, provided that the sigil meets the test requirements for that particular player.

Crafting and cost

There are three alternative methods for creating the Golden Sigil:

  • in a Glazier's Bench ("Craft a jewelled glass sigil inlaid with..."), using 1 db of jewelled glass plus 1 db each of gold and two other metals. Cooling time is 3 minutes.
  • in a Casting box, under the Goldwork menu ("Cast a golden sigil inlaid with..."), using 1 db of gold plus 1 db of each 2 other metals. Cooling time is 10 minutes.
  • in a Forge ("Forge a golden sigil inlaid with..."), using 1 db of gold plus 1 db of each 2 other metals. Cooling time is 10 minutes.

Inportant note: The method used for creating your Golden Sigil is not optional, it is listed in the requirements given by the Test of Hand of Ra. Thus, even though forging a Golden Sigil will produce a valid sigil component in general terms, it will not be valid for use in player X' Sigil of Ra if the requirements called for a casted sigil.

Uses

Used in the creation of Sigils of Ra. Before presenting the sigil at the University of Architecture and have it returned as a "Sigil of Ra", the player will have to set decorative items into the sigil and decorate it as described in the test requirements. See Sigil of Ra for further details about these steps.
