Restoration of Democracy

One of the greatest inventions of humans is the concept of elected officials. Elections are fundamentally different from Inherited systems such as monarchies or other variations where power is wielded by people based on birth, wealth or other aspects such as being a member of a particular group, club or technology.

Egypt has a hereditary Pharaoh. Our current Pharaoh is Pluribus. In the past it was Teppy. There have been battles for succession of the throne between siblings of the Old Pharaoh as part of past tale story lines. So the fundamental political landscape is that of a monarchy.

Our beneficent Pharaohs allow Egypt to elect a player selected from player base and to elevate them to the status of Demi-Pharaoh. Players undergo multiple selection rounds and a final vote by the active player base. Like all democratic processes voting can be influenced by the player in a variety of ways such as campaigning and gathering the promises of votes.

The power of the Demi-Pharaoh is absolute and cannot be revoked. Participation and selection of a player is a significant part of every tale.

Some tales back, Teppy-Pharaoh, enabled Ranged Voting. This enabled the player base to vote, not just 1 player as a winner but to rank all the players on the ballot according to their preference. Players can vote all for one and still vote a second or third (etc) choice. This gave players a way to influence the outcome without the "Winner Take All" / " Win / Lose" aspect of many RL voting systems.
