A shovel is used at Digs to dig for Cuttable Stone, Medium Stone, Bauxite and Gypsum. It is also used to gather dirt from the ground. Both uses require dirt terrain.

- Slate Shovels and Iron Shovels dig one unit, or one level per dig attempt.
- Blacksmithed shovel yields depend on blade quality.
- A 9574q shovel digs 6 dirt per dig attempt and 2 or sometimes 3 levels at a hole
