General Feedback

It would probably be worthwhile to review http://atitd.com/lawmaking.html Before a makes it to the ballots, it must survive potential developer veto. The lawmaking page on atitd.com outlines a number of things that qualify for these vetoes. Many sections of this draft constitute physicsvetoes (they violate the "physics" of egypt, allowing players to do things that are not possible) or techvetoes (they would be extremely complex / impractical to implement). Also, there is a maximum length for laws (they must fit in the text box when you create your petition), and I believe the current draft here is quite a bit larger than that.

Beyond that, Egyptians have traditionally (in previous Tales) been reluctant to grant broad powers to others that could significantly affect their gameplay experience. In particular, I feel that the Judges being granted sweeping powers for "punishment" with no restrictions preventing their arbitrary use (other than a procedure to remove a Judge, which could take some time) is something that would make this very unlikely to pass as-is, assuming it made it to the ballot.

It may be more productive to break it into a small serious of laws -- one for appointing judges (possibly via a more simplified process less likely to techveto), then later laws empowering judges.

The Good Judge

Contacting a Judge

The law fails to establish how players may contact a judge.

More ideas welcome, while this would be nice, Demi-Pharaohs from tale 3 seemed to get a pretty big call out without having this ability. I do like this idea thou! But I think it will be vetoed. The way GMs get their calls is that all dev call go to the same board and GMs can see DEV calls, but are simply asked not to answer such calls. I doubt a new board would be allowed to be created for Judges. ~Seba

§ Contacting a Judge:
Players may contact a Judge through their special menu, much like contacting a GM.

Judge Code of Conduct

I believe you mean "Code of Conduct", for this reason I have changed this expression. Further more I think players should ask what is good for a Judge to do and not do, the petition itself is just getting Judges up and running, its then up to players to say {CoC: "Judges shall not use their powers without first having a fair trail as set out below....."} ~Seba

§ Judge Code of Conduct:
I feel one should be made up, giving people an idea of why they should remove a Judge, even though no reason is needed.

Judge Communications

Judges will be able to create a Guild Hall for this purpose. This doesn't need to be an added feature that the game handles. ~Seba

§ Judge Communications:
Upon election Judges will join the channel "Judge". Only Judges may join this channel. Retired Judges are permitted to join.

The Good Judge

Good idea however as I stated on the forums this is way too long, please note I shred alot of this in a attempt to get it under the 1500 charactor limit. Bannable or prision issues should be taken to a Demipharaoh or GM so prison should be dropped for now. I beleive the following covers most of what you are trying to do. Sadly this is almost 1800 charactors

§ Duty:

This should be 2 sentences or less.

§ Appointment:

§ Visit a University of Leadership to collect a Petition of Judges
§ After collect 30 signatures from paid accounts the petition can be returned to become a Judge.
§ If there are more judges than positions (total positions being 26) Judges shall be picked at random from the group.
§ A judge shall hold office for 1 month or having been offline for 10 days real time whichever comes first.
§ At any time when the total judges is less than 26 a new judge shall be picked at random from all applicants.

§ Powers:

Move Structures: Any structure dependent on its location (ie Mines), or a compound of 16 sectors or larger with a cornerstone inplace may not be moved.
Destruction of Structures: Structures required for Test (ie Obelisks) cannot be removed.
Teleportation: A judge will be given the ablity to teleport to the plantiff (charactor which submitted the case) as well as to the closest chariot stop these fast travel uses will require no travel time.

§ Cases:

§ A case will be created by a player of a paid account creating a case petition @ a university or school of leadership. A case petition will require to be signed by 10 paid accounts of level 7 or higher and turned in at a university or school of leadership before it can be accessed by a judge.
§ A Judge can take only take a max of 2 cases from a university of leadership or school of leadership at anytime.
§ Once a case has been reveiwed the judge shall take action they deam required, and close the case via a popup with the following option, Case Closed.
this could be abused and should be rewritten § A plantiff may not have more than one case open at any time and must wait for 4 days after the closing of one case before opening another case.
§ A plantiff may close a case they submitted at anytime.
