DP Debate Questions....

Q1. For those who have never had the opportunity to interact with you before can you share a little about yourself, what you enjoy about ATITD as well as how long you have been playing?

A1. I started playing at the start of T2. I have attempted all and passed most of the tests that have been released since I started playing. I have done pretty much everything there is to do in the game, and have enjoyed most of the activities I've done and tests I've passed. I have been a DP in multiple other tales, have never banned anyone, and have used my authority as a DP to help mediate disputes to achieve a positive outcome for all parties involved. I have mentored many of the players currently playing ATITD at one point or another and am always willing to help out when I'm in-game. I enjoy building items and planning activities, but what I enjoy most about ATITD is the friends I have made, the interaction between players, and the group projects/activities. I

Q2. As some specific examples, would you consider any of the following playstyles as worthy of DP intervention? Obelisk queue violation, bonfiring of a clay patches to prevent others from building, using large quantities of alts to rig elections, mentorship advancement, or other test passes?

A2. I do not consider any of those items by themselves to be grounds for banning. However, if there were complaints lodged against certain players for doing some of the above activities, the DP's should investigate and discuss ATITD's societal norms with the offenders and what most players consider appropriate and inappropriate behavior. Also there should be some open discussions to try to achieve a win/win situation for all parties involved in the dispute.

Q3. If the general consensus of the rest of the DPs were that that person should not be banned, but you felt strongly that they should, what would you do?

A3. I would work with all the DP's to reach a consensus on a plan of action for the person, and if the consensus was the person NOT be banned, then I would put aside any personal feelings and follow the consensus of the group.

Q4. How's your progress in other Leadership tests?

A4. I have not passed any other leadership tests currently, but am working on all of the tests currently opened in order to pass them at some point.

Q5. How are you providing leadership in the game and amongst the player base?

A5. From the time I started playing the game I have strived to organize and lead events, guilds, projects, and activities. I have mentored many people in the game and continue to do so. I try to lead by example by always taking time to help other players when asked, to mentor when possible, help when available and otherwise make ATITD a more fun and satisfying game for everyone to enjoy.

Q6. What specifically have you done to further the growth of the community?

A6. By mentoring many fellow players, lending assistance whenever asked, sharing knowledge when possible, leading by example, getting r/l friends to play the game, and always trying to be a positive influence to my fellow players.

Q7. How many Egypt-wide events e.g Acro, Digs or others have you organized in T7?

A7. This Tale my R/L job and activities have not afforded me the time to do as much as I wanted to, so I have only organized 1 such activity this tale, however I have organized, participated and lead countless such activities over the years. I personally think this that each person needs to lead by example, but do not feel people should be elected as a DP as a reward, it should be the person best qualified.

Q8. Spouselog allows access to ban powers. Do you know who have access to your spouse account?

A8. My spouse in game is very trustworthy and would never use my DP powers to ban someone. Nor does she allow anyone else to sign into her account, nor use her account except me using spouselog.

Q9. As DP do you think you should share your password? Do you think a DP should have access to other DP accounts?

A9. I have never shared my password with anyone, nor will I. No, I don't think anyone should be signing onto any accounts except their own accounts in the game, with the exception being spouselog.

Q10. What other powers would you like to see DPs hold, in the interests of improving game play?

A10. Not necessarily powers, but I would like to see a more formal mediation system placed into effect inside the game so that any disputes between players can be quickly and fairly settled.

Q11. What question would you like to be asked, and why?

A11. Since the DP elections often turn into a Beauty Pageant, I would want people to ask what i want most (World Peace) and how I look in formal wear and a bathing suit (I look awesome) and why....because it'd be fun.

Q12. Closing Statement

A12. I personally feel the ban stick part of being a DP is usually over emphasized. I have been a DP in multiple tales and have never used it. However, I have used my skills as a mediator to settle many disputes between players. I feel the main emphasis of being a DP should be as a mediator and someone who leads by example, and I know i have more real life mediation and leadership experience than anyone else in the game. I have served on the Boards of Directors and as president of the BOD for over 15 organizations over the years, including local chapters of national volunteer organizations. I currently serve in a leadership role on the Board of Directors for 4 different organizations. My local Lions Club International Chapter(first Vice-President for a charter of 120 members), my neighborhood homeowners association (president for a homeowners subdivision of 258 households), my Church (President of the Parish Council for a Parish of 950 families) and a local bank (On the board of directors and chairperson of the Audit Committee). I feel that I should be elected as a DP, not because I'm more popular than other players or as a reward to me for other things I've accomplished in the game, but because I have served with distinction in this capacity in previous Tales and have more experience both in game and real life in leadership and mediation roles that the DP spends most of his time with. I also have served on a Mediation board with a judge and an attorney to settle mediation disputes for auto related medical claims. This Board meets 3 times a month, and deals with medical disputes ranging from a few hundred to a few million U.S. Dollars. I have served on this Board for over a decade.
