Many Guilds and Individuals go through great effort to build machines and facilities that they later share publicly with Egypt. This law gives them the right to require compensation for use of their constructions in order to recoup their costs and assist in building future structures. They may do this by reserving an "Owner's Share" on various structures.

Only the following structures shall be deemed eligible for an Owner's Share, and are collectively referred to as "Share Structures" (or SS for short):

• Apiary
• Automatic Loom
• Brick Machine
• Brick Oven
• Deep Well
• Distaff
• Flax Gin
• Furnace (including Gyration Cell, but excluding Fleet Furnace)
• Limestone Auger
• Mine
• Quarry
• Sawmill
• Steam Shovel
• Steam Silt Collector

It is *not* required that owners share Share Structures and therefore the default "Share Status" for all structures will be Off. To initiate the Share, the owner must change the Share Status setting on the SS to On and may discontinue the split at any time by changing the setting back to Off. If set to On, the owner may establish (or change) an Owner's Share rate of 1%-100% of any and all resources produced by the SS.

While the Share Structure's Share Setting is On, resources shall not be assigned to any bin until a Take action is initiated on the Share Structure (suggest updating the action to "Settle Shares and Take"). Then the Share rate shall be applied to any unallocated resources, with Owner's Share % of resources going to the Owner's Bin and the rest of the resources going to the Public Bin. If the SS' Share Setting is Off, all resources shall go to the Owner's Bin.

At all times the contents in the Owner's Bin shall be retrievable based on the structure's basic Permission for Use setting (Elder to Initiate or Anyone for guild-owned; and Private or Public for Individually owned) and the contents of the Public Bin shall always be retrievable by the Public.

Any time resources are produced in a SS, they will be unallocated and non-retrievable until a Take action (recommend rewording in game to "Settle Shares and Take") is selected. At that point:

• Owner's Share of the total unallocated resources (rounded down) shall be placed into the Owner's Bin
• (1 - Owner's Share) (also rounded down) of the unallocated resources shall be placed in the Public Bin
• Any remaining unallocated resources shall then have a chance to go to the Owner's Bin based on the share of the remainder, otherwise they shall go to the Public Bin.
• After the bins are updated, the Take action can continue (with the Public or Owner's Bin depending on the user's permitted access).

Example: A Mine has Share Setting On and Owner's Share at 8%. It is operated and produces 5 Ore and the user decides to "Settle Shares and Take." The Public Bin would get 92% * 5 Ore = 4 Ore guaranteed (rounded down from 4.6) and the Owner's Bin would get 8% * 5 Ore = 0 Ore guaranteed (rounded down from 0.4). Then the remaining 1 Ore would have a 0.4 / 1 chance to go to the Owner's Bin. Thus in the long run the true allocations to the Public and the Owner will be very similar to the actual Owner's Share rate, even when applied repeatedly to small resource splits.

All Share Structures shall display the Share Status and Owner's Share rate (if any) to those interacting with them. If there is a message communicating the production of resources, it will be revised to display the quantities produced to the Owner Bin and those produced to the Public Bin.

Final Note: Because this law is complicated enough, I have decided to exclude Raeli Ovens since they dig up a tile AND bake a tile. Determination of when to tax and whether the Public choosing to bake would impact the Owner's bin shall be left for an amendment law.
