Demi Pharaoh Debate Feb 2016

Q1. For those who have never had the opportunity to interact with you before can you share a little about yourself, what you enjoy about ATITD as well as how long you have been playing?

A1. I have been playing since T1. Over the years I have made a lot of friends and met many people. I still play with the same group of people as I did in T2, they are like my 2nd family. In the past I have done my best to help people whenever needed and it is a joy to me to make new friends. Especially if they become long time players of this game that I love. I was a DP in previous tales and I would love the chance to become one again. My real life job as a Retail Manager has prepared me for many roles in Atitd. A leader, team player, organizer, builder, mediator and most of all a very good listener. These skills are an assett to being a great Demi Pharaoh. I have a passion for this game and I really want everyone playing to have as much fun as possible, my goal as Demi Pharaoh would be to make sure that is possible.

Q2. As some specific examples, would you consider any of the following playstyles as worthy of DP intervention? Obelisk queue violation, bonfiring of a clay patches to prevent others from building, using large quantities of alts to rig elections, mentorship advancement, or other test passes?

A2. I'll cover these one at a time. Obelisk queue violation... In theory a queue is a violation of the "spirit of the test" we are supposed to try to out-build one another. While I typically wait until later in the tales to build an obelisk I have personally respected every obelisk queue in every tale. Bonfiring of clay patches and the new fad of the times in South Egypt right now of Welcome Banners all over the clay patches really bothers me. If you want to work that hard to cover a clay patch to keep someone from building an oven, why not put that same effort into building the oven? It looks even worse after almost two months into the tech and they have still not built their oven. Within personal camps is a different story but they must be a prettier way to cover that clay. Large quantities of alts are all still paid accounts and I believe that money earns them the right to play those alts as they see fit. However, "buying" a mentor pass just doesn't refelect the spirit of that test at all. Maybe it should be Test of Subscriptions. Whoever has the most wins.

Q3. If the general consensus of the rest of the DPs were that that person should not be banned, but you felt strongly that they should, what would you do?

A3. I would lead a debate and explain my feelings. I would allow everyone else to do the same thing. After a thorough discussion we would vote and I would honour the outcome of the vote.

Q4. How's your progress in other Leadership tests?

A4. Typically early in new tales I focus on tests that will raise my stats which aid in many tasks in the game. I was the first person to pass Kingmaker. That is because I have known the candidates for a long time and was able to predict what traits that Egypt would find useful for the first DP. Or, I got lucky, lol. I have also passed Plantation and Retired Pirates, getting close on Bureaucrat and I am anxiously waiting on other tests to be available to dive head first into them.

Q5. How are you providing leadership in the game and amongst the player base?

A5. I work hard making sure I contribute to regional projects and help many people with advice based on my experience of all seven tales. I maintain a very large guild camp as an industrial complex to mass produce materials needed for advancement of the game and bring in helpers that can contribute to that cause. Plus we work on some of the larger group tests aswell.

Q6. What specifically have you done to further the growth of the community?

A6. I try to help out new players, make them feel needed and at home and that they can contribute even in a small way. Every person counts. Every effort helps.

Q7. How many Egypt-wide events e.g Acro, Digs or others have you organized in T7?

A7. Typically there are a few people that rise to these events and make sure they are regular and advertised. For example Augir really shines in this category. While I do not organize these things on a large scale I make sure I participate especially early in the tales when it is most needed. As the tale progresses, 50 people are not needed to make a successful dig for example, so I tend to run smaller digs etc. I also help people organize their own digs and acro. I often hear in ET people asking when is the next dig, or is there Acro today. I encourage them to run their own and help them, if i can, get them organized.

Q8. Spouselog allows access to ban powers. Do you know who have access to your spouse account?

A8. Simple, my spouse, MrBruce is my account.

Q9. As DP do you think you should share your password? Do you think a DP should have access to other DP accounts?

A9. Password sharing is a personal thing, usually it is done among friends who know and trust each other. If i trust someone with my chest full of rare herbs, I trust them to respect my DP powers and not take advantage of that.

Q10. What other powers would you like to see DPs hold, in the interests of improving game play?

A10. There is currently a petition going around for an appeals process for Banned accounts. I like it. I think this would be a very good addition to DP powers. It would be nice also if DPs could possibly set up Events, like scavanger hunts, races etc. Something to inject a little more fun in the role.

Q11. What question would you like to be asked, and why?

A11. If the answer is 42. What is the question? Why? That should be self explanitory ;)

Q12. Closing Statement

A12. First I want to thank Augir for doing an awesome job, as usual. Then I want to thank Pluribus for breathing new life into this game we love. Have to thank the other candidates for making it a fun challenge. Finally I want to thank all of Egypt for helping us all have fun and play in the sand. A lot of you know me, or know of me, you should expect me to be me. I will help anyone who asks. I will bend over backwards to make sure we all can have some fun. But finally, you can expect me to keep trying to make you all laugh. Thank-you all and HUGS.
