University Text
Create a series of opinion polls about Egypt, it's citizens, guilds, and lore. Players score points at your game by figuring out the most popular answers, and correct order.
All polls should be opinion based, and not questions with specific correct answers.
"What is the hardest mushroom to find?" is a good question, and "How many points do you start out with in Tug" is a bad question.
Overview
The Test of the Pulse of the People is the eighth test in the discipline of Thought.
Passing the Principle
Build a Pulse of the People and design both the SURVEY phase and the GAME phase, then open it up for judging. OR score 21+ on three recent winning Pulses.
Survey Phase
During the survey phase, people give answers to the survey question and receive a Pulse of the People Token as reward.
Once 49 people have completed the survey, the designer examines the responses, consolidates the answers and opens the game phase.
Game Phase
Playing the game costs one Pulse of the People Token. People have to guess the most popular answers to each question (getting more points for more popular answers).
Once someone has played through the game phase, they can judge the Pulse as with other Thought Tests.
How to Play a Pulse
The game itself will be a bit like "Family Fortunes" (UK), or "Family Feud" (US). The idea is to try and guess the most popular answers to each question. The more popular the answer, the more points you get. After a certain number of wrong guesses, you go onto the next question.
- When you start to play it will give you each question in a new window.
- At the very bottom of this window is a chat field where you enter the answer.
- All the answers available are hidden behind multiple question marks listed in the window like this: ???? ?????
- You keep answering the same question until you either reveal all of the correct answers OR you exceed the maximum amount of incorrect answers you can get per question (set by the puzzle designer.)
- You have a time limit, not answering for a long period (30-60 seconds?) will record an incorrect answer.
- Trying to chat to others often leads to mis-answering the Pulse questions so try to avoid chatting while interfacing with a Pulse.
Passing the Test
Each week, the highest-rated puzzle will pass.

Pulse of the People Locations
Please add your Pulse to the map and the table below. For clarity, please use a (RdS) symbol for a Pulse in Survey mode, a (GrP) symbol for a Pulse in Play mode, and a (BlP) symbol for a Pulse that has passed (best in the land).

Demonstrating the Principle
- 1 White Pliable Board
- 1 White Raeli Tile
- 1 Black Raeli Tile
- 1 Green paint
- 1 Blue paint
- 1 Purple paint
- 1 Silk Cloth
- 1 Gold Wire
- 1 Papyrus Paper
- 1 Ink
With these items in hand, the University will then ask you who visited the University exactly some number of days, hours and minutes ago. Get this question right, and you unlock Pulse of the People. Get it wrong, and you have to wait an hour before attempting to guess again.
