Yield tested based off running a grid of 4x5.  Two rows of one wheat and two rows of another wheat are grown and harvested for 30 mins.  I've been doing all testing in a similar maner, so that I can attempt to compare the results.  Note that there is some randomness in producing wheat (Weeds, lag, slow reflexes, etc).

Do to a large lag spike, testing for Tunnen#12 and #13 was interrupted 20 mins into the test and all fields diedI'm planning on doing a full retest of it again, but in the mean time I put up the average yields from what was produced in those 20 mins.
+
* Output yield bonus:  More GR gene sets = larger yield when harvesting.
 +
** Seems to be a 1:1 linear growth.  Vodun (10xGR) produces on average 10 times more wheat then Santeria (1xGR).
 +
** To grow on dirt, at least 1 is requiredNot sure if this affects yeild on all terrain types.

= Crossbreeding =
+
* Dirt: GR, RY, and YO
 +
** GRYO is the shortest gene set to meet this requirement

Akhet Wheat
+
* Sand: ***In Progress***

+
** Must be at least ORRGY as Tunnen#50 shows.  Has ORRG still but lost the O from the ORRGY(U) portion and is not able to grow on sand. (*Needs to be revisted*)
{|{table} border=10 cellpadding="1" cellspacing="3" style="background-color:#DAA520"
+
** Still haven't fully determined the Sand gene set, though further testing shows it's not isolated to one gene set. (See Tunnen#131-Tunnen#138)
| '''RESULT'''
+
*** Replacing gene 1,2,3,4 or 14 (Palo) prevented growth on sand(Haven't tested to see if it was due to breaking a set, or introducing a new set)
| '''LEFT'''
+
*** Since modification of gene 5 and 6 (Palo) did not affect growth on sand, ORRG seems to be required.  Need to look at or retest my note on Tunnen#50 as these results conflict.
| '''RIGHT'''
+
*** Gene 14 was an interesting find, since I was not expecting that mutation to affect sand growth, this may lead to the "Eureka!" moment that similarly affected my success with the dirt and yield gene sets.
| '''GENOME'''
+
*** Further testing to determine if the surronding genes 13/15 also affect sand growth, or if replacing 14 with a gene other than O or Y will also affect it
| '''NOTES'''
+
**** Strangely enough, changing 14 to R allows it to still grow on sand. (Tunnen#141)
|-
+
**** Also tried modifying 13 to O, then making 14 to Y, still doesn't grow on sand.  So assuming YY may be to blame. (Tunnen#148)
| Tunnen#1
+
**** Started testing every combination of genes to try to start narrowing this down, as I'm still having problems finding a common gene among those that grow on sand and those that don'tStarting to think there is a variable I'm missingHopefully these tests will help.

****** So far both gene 5 & 14 are causing mixed results.  Will be intersting to see what G or U will do in gene 5.
| Tunnen#6
+
**** Trying to take a look at a possible non-sequential pattern.  A theory of OxxxY looks like it may work.  It would explain the oddity of Tunnen#50 and why modifying Palo gene 5 to O still works.  (Gene 9 is Y).  To test this I'll see if I can remove the O from gene 1 of Tunnen#137 and have it still grow.  Also try changine gene 9 in Tunnen#137 to see if it'll stop growing on sand.  This doesn't explain the Palo gene 14 oddity, though it may remove another varible from the equation.

= Theories =
+
* Grass: Limited research - OYOY?
 +
** Changing gene 4 or 6 prevented growth on grass (Tunnen#68/74)
 +
** Much more testing required

* Sand - ORRGYU (Or portion thereof)
+
* Clay: Unfortantly I was taking a break from wheat research during the only season (Shemu) that had Abacau
* Dirt - YORRG (Or portion thereof)

** ORRGY and YORRG?

*** Appearently not.  Tunnen#33 disproved that.  I'll have to go back and look at other possible connections.  According to others, Druze also grows on dirt but is missing the YORRG.

* GYU seems to be common to all strains that have a lower yield.  (I still haven't logged a lot of yield testing though and since wheat yield is not constant, this could just be a coincidence)

** As my testing of the wheat progresses, this is looking more and more likely.  I'm in the process of working towards creating a strain with two GYUs in it to see if there is another drop in productivity.

*** First test of wheat with two GYUs in it has resulted in the weak stalk message.  See Tunnen#21.  This could also have something to do with the close proximity of the YORRG (Assumed Dirt) gene set.

**** Going to have to take another look at this as the YORRG gene set was disproven, so the second GYU could have altered a component needed to grow on dirt at all.

* Continuing on with this dirt gene set.  After Tunnen#33 I went back to check common gene sets with all dirt growable wheat(including Druze) and the only common set of genes I can find are GR, RY, and YO.  Tunnen#21 lost the GR gene set so that may prove that component, yet there was also the double GYU experiment so I can't prove it without more tests.

** Candomble is also missing a GR gene set and also can't grow on dirt, yet no one has been able to grow it anywhere, so again no help in proving this one way or another.

Current Theories

  • Output yield bonus: More GR gene sets = larger yield when harvesting.
    • Seems to be a 1:1 linear growth. Vodun (10xGR) produces on average 10 times more wheat then Santeria (1xGR).
    • To grow on dirt, at least 1 is required. Not sure if this affects yeild on all terrain types.
  • Dirt: GR, RY, and YO
    • GRYO is the shortest gene set to meet this requirement
  • Sand: ***In Progress***
    • Must be at least ORRGY as Tunnen#50 shows. Has ORRG still but lost the O from the ORRGY(U) portion and is not able to grow on sand. (*Needs to be revisted*)
    • Still haven't fully determined the Sand gene set, though further testing shows it's not isolated to one gene set. (See Tunnen#131-Tunnen#138)
      • Replacing gene 1,2,3,4 or 14 (Palo) prevented growth on sand. (Haven't tested to see if it was due to breaking a set, or introducing a new set)
      • Since modification of gene 5 and 6 (Palo) did not affect growth on sand, ORRG seems to be required. Need to look at or retest my note on Tunnen#50 as these results conflict.
      • Gene 14 was an interesting find, since I was not expecting that mutation to affect sand growth, this may lead to the "Eureka!" moment that similarly affected my success with the dirt and yield gene sets.
      • Further testing to determine if the surronding genes 13/15 also affect sand growth, or if replacing 14 with a gene other than O or Y will also affect it
        • Strangely enough, changing 14 to R allows it to still grow on sand. (Tunnen#141)
        • Also tried modifying 13 to O, then making 14 to Y, still doesn't grow on sand. So assuming YY may be to blame. (Tunnen#148)
        • Started testing every combination of genes to try to start narrowing this down, as I'm still having problems finding a common gene among those that grow on sand and those that don't. Starting to think there is a variable I'm missing. Hopefully these tests will help.

            • So far both gene 5 & 14 are causing mixed results. Will be intersting to see what G or U will do in gene 5.
        • Trying to take a look at a possible non-sequential pattern.
  • Grass: Limited research - OYOY?
    • Changing gene 4 or 6 prevented growth on grass (Tunnen#68/74)
    • Much more testing required
  • Clay: Unfortantly I was taking a break from wheat research during the only season (Shemu) that had Abacau
