Break 13

This is what it looks like when you break your mine for the 13th time and STILL don't find a Huge Ruby...Happy St. Patricks Day...

March 16, 2009 RL put a damper on play tonight... so i spent a little time trying to either get a Huge Ruby or break the ruby mine for the lucky 13th time. Neither happened.

Rare Acro Line

First I logged on and saw there were a gazillion people on the rare acro line. So I did tons of chores since there is no race this weekend and a Sunday with no race is a horror for me. After I finished all sorts of stuff, I figured I would acro for an hour or two and then get some stuff done for work tomorrow. I logged on and there was a pretty long line as you can see. We all chatted it up and had lots of fun on the waiting line (which was called various things by my fellow linemates.) Every so often we would run off the line and acro quick with someone, I received a new move and a facet this way. When I was finally called upon as the first in line it was a great experience. Everyone was orderly, every 3 minutes time was called and we moved forward. After I was about half way through the lines I realized it was time for me to log and get my work for tomorrow done. I felt kind of bad but real life was calling. I did make a promise to myself. In a few weeks I will have 12 days off from work and will not be going anywhere in particular since I have to be home for some stuff that's being worked on in my place. (you know, stuff) Instead of being a student for acro and waiting on line, I would like to try my hand at teaching. I doubt that I will have passed acro by then, although I don't need that many facets. I look at it as a way of giving back to the community. Lots of people spend endless hours teaching on an acroline and never get the credit they deserve. Maybe if they let me teach (I'll certainly have plenty of time during that vacation) one of the regular teachers can take some time off. I have spent hours upon hours as a student and I can't imagine what it's like as a teacher being there all day or all night long. So here I am writing my blog when I should be doing work for tomorrow. Hope to see you in Egypt later but for sure tomorrow evening.

March 14, 2009 It was a very busy afternoon and evening. The pre-rare acro line was great in Shabby and a big shout out to Rabble. I learned Handstand, received some facets, and gave out a few too. After I went back to Saqq for a bit, I decided to make a journey through FB and then up to Sinai searching out those elusive otters. None to be found. I acro'd my way through the chariots from Sinai to Falcon Bay, to Meroe, to Saqq and picked up Crunches by the time I got to my compound.

What can I say? My ruby mine broke for the 12th time and still no huge ruby.

Day Care Center

So I went to visit Mr.Ranger who is at the Meroe Monkey Day Care Center. He was taking a nap, as were his little buddies. He looked so sweet sleeping that I decided to leave him there a few more days.

The party is over. Thank you so much to everyone that participated. We picked a beautiful star and I named it after me. How obnoxious. Pretty in Pink BooBoo. I hope it is seen at a UArt near you. Yes, I did drop the Star Lab off at a UArt just as soon as the exhibition was over. :)

COME ONE COME ALL....Tonight, 7pm eastern (that’s USA east coast time) 11pm GMT, there will be a Star Lab exhibition near the Saqqarah chariot stop. Everyone is invited to register as a watcher of the display, enjoy the stars as they are launched, read the costs of the most recently-launched star, and vote on each star after it is launched. The Star Lab is now up for registrants.

I wonder if anyone will show up?

Chem Stuff

YAY I finished my chemistry lab and paper press. The problem is I have to figure out why I made the paper press. Ohhh yes now I see. I still need to make acid which requires me to find that silly Ruby that is not happening. So after the star lab shoots off tomorrow night it's back to the mines.

Miniscule ranting... So.... I decided to put my little announcement on E! So maybe lots of people would gather round and enjoy an evening staring at the stars. I didn't copy and paste from the below mentioned blurb, I did a copy and paste from my document I saved that unfortunately didn't have the GMT information that merek was so kind to pass on to me last night. Well... (Lifts and dips shoulders) some peeps got irritated that I didn't add the GMT. Of course I said I was sorry and its 11pm GMT because I didn't want anyone to feel slighted and I also didn't want anyone to miss out on the big event. Well a whole discussion ensued about the time of eastern, eastern daylight, GMT time, etc, etc... So henceforth the announcement will say 11pm GMT. Now... Since I live in New York City, if I went around and said to someone, hey there, come on over, we're having a bash at 11pm GMT, everyone would look at me like I was nuts. But since I'm here in Egypt I have to get used to that stuff. The problem is I'm blonde. So now it's -4 GMT which is 7pm eastern my time. But when the clocks change AGAIN it will AGAIN be -5 GMT. That is waaaay too much thinking for me. It's bad enough that I haven't changed my clock in the living room from the time change last Sunday at 2am eastern NYC time here where I am sitting right this second and don't tell anyone but I can't figure out how to change the time on the radio in my car which I've only had to change 18 times over the last 9 years, AND I still can't figure it out.

March 11, 2009 Important Announcement: Friday the 13th 7pm eastern (GMT -4H = 11pm GMT thank you to merek for this information that is way too complicated for me) there will be a Star Lab exhibition near the Saqqarah chariot stop. Everyone is invited to register as a watcher of the display, enjoy the stars as they are launched, read the costs of the most recently-launched star, and vote on each star after it is launched. The Star Lab is now up for registrants.

and I said that in one breath. P.S. Sami this is a personal invitation for you to attend.

Solid Land Tower

So here I was minding my own business and it was time for the solid land tower to be built.

04

As you can see I didn't build in a very good spot. But the tower was pretty while it was up anyway.

March 9, 2009 Jeff came in second yesterday in Atlanta so a hip hip hooray for him :D Attended the acro line in shabby and it was great as 2 new acro moves were bestowed upon me. I'm trying to get that dex up to where my strength is so it was a great evening. I have to admit I watched Dancing with the Stars and dvr'd 24 just so I could see Lawrence Taylor dance.

March 8, 2009 WOOHOOO The UArt gave me a StarLab. So Friday night, 7 pm eastern by the Saqq chariot stop, I will exhibit the wonderful 60 stars it will show us. Everyone is welcome to join in. I will make announcements during the week.

So I had the opportunity to ask Sami to marry me a few times and I took it. You see, Balth was doing a repeat to help Sami out on E! for an issue they had with the chat, so I thought I will help along.

Proposals on E!

I thought it was the 12th proposal but it was really the 13th, 14th, and 15th. I can't believe I had to go back to my February blog to see which one it was. THEN Sefet remarked that Sami was into S&M. Which I can only conclude means, ahem, single & male, and that's just perfect for me. So I made my 16th proposal. As usual Teppy is probably making him work all day so he won't be able to respond, but it didn't stop me from running to the Meroe cs to ask him again. .

Justin and Emmylou's Wedding

Always a bridesmaid, I wish much happiness to Justin and Emmy whose wonderful nuptials I attended after Sami didn't respond AGAIN.

March 7, 2009 Copper mine broken 9x and still no huge ruby :( Now that I have well over 1k copper and no huge ruby, it's time to go search out those otter critters. Where are the otters? On a medium note: Jeff will start 16th at Atlanta tomorrow. Let's Go Jeff.

March 6, 2009 Okay, I need desication 3 to do something with my pryo thingy's that I'm working on. Back to the ruby mine that has broken 4x and given me NO HUGE RUBY. I am at the ruby mine and not leaving until it spits out a huge ruby. So wave to me if you see me because I will probably be there all weekend long. 8x the mine has broken and no huge ruby. But I certainly have alot of copper. Till tomorrow.

March 5, 2009

YaY... I made my star rack. Not a big deal really to make, but it's the beginning of my quest for pyrotechnics..

Star Rack

I watched some of the video's on youtube of the wonderful players meet in Pittsburgh. A fun time looks like it was had by all. One particular video showed Teppy awarding prizes to everyone (congrats malard on the obi) suddenly someone asked Teppy if he was Sami or Wahim. I paused the video afraid to hear the answer. It's one thing for the human to know who Sami is, it's quite another for me to know who he is. To me, he is Sami. Thank goodness Teppy said, "Wahim." Whew. I was so glad. My friend Korrin said that someone had a nameplate on that said Sami. But, she may have been kidding. It seems that Sami may or may not have been at the players meet and he must have left the group for awhile (maybe depressed because I wasn't able to attend?) If you haven't had a chance, I seriously suggest you take a peek at the great pictures and video that was filmed during the meet. Pssssttt, maybe there will be one during the summer so BooBoo can attend.

March 4, 2009 The server is down now at 642pm, not good especially when the human is not at her usual 100% this evening. I'm afraid she won't let me stay on very long this evening and this is a terrible setback.

March 3, 2009 Well it was a great day in Egypt yesterday. I tagged an Ibis and produced lots of stuff. You know, the stuff we need to produce. Bricks, boards, flax, ya know, stuff. So tonight I plan to relax, checking on my chests, warehouse, and tent, to make sure I have enough stuff. So what's the stuff for? You know, doing stuff. I'm contemplating doing the test of Pyrotechnics. But, then I need different kinds of stuff. So tonight besides relaxing, I'll read the wiki on the stuff I need to make beautiful fireworks and then after I have run around Egypt searching for my last 3 critters for Safari, I'll go back to making stuff. This time I will have an aim. To make stuff that has a purpose instead of stuff that I may or may not need in the future. Can't help loving that stuff.

Warm pajamas. Did you ever put your pj's on right after they came out of the hot dryer? Sweetness. It could be time to install one of those towel warmers in my cp to lay my pj's on so they are toasty warm when I'm ready to hang out in the cp for the evening. Just sharing.

March 2, 2009 Jeff came is 6th and is first in the standings. YAY, and I'm going to work in a ton of snow, BOO. Okay, so I live in the biggest city in the world. I checked the website for where I work and it didn't say it was closed. I listened to the radio and it didn't say it was closed. So the human got up, had breakfast at 5:30 a.m. shoveled her car out of its spot. Brought her bags downstairs and put them in the car while the wind was blowing the snow on her at 50 mph. She cleans her car off, gingerly drives towards work and while she is listening to the radio they say, "Wow, we never get to announce this, BooBoo's jobsite is closed today." Soooooo, she is stuck in traffic on the highway, finally gets off an exit, slowly turns around and drives back home. Since she left, the road in front of her spot has been plowed and they plowed snow into her spot. So she gets the shovel, shovels out the spot, backs the car in, (all along saying unrepeatable words) grabs her bags and trudges home to get snuggly in her pj's to hang out in Egypt for the day.

March 1, 2009 A new day, a new month, and new adventures to be found in Egypt.

Yesterday I was having some trouble with my headphones so I enlisted Kelly's help last night to see if the headphones and mic were working. We went to Yahoo and for the first half hour or so, Kelly could hear me and my very very New York accent and I couldn't hear her. So I gabbed away while her mic was being reconfigured and all I could think of was she is listening to some New Yawker ramble on and I'm a nut job. Well, after awhile, I could hear Kelly and her Boston accent and she couldn't hear me. After all got fixed, the two of us gabbed and gabbed for 3 hours.

Which brings me to the next mindless rant. Who are we? A very deep question indeed. (My favorite word) A bunch of people sitting at their computers playing what is supposed to be a game. But is it? Did you ever watch Lost? Are we all Teppy's psychological experiment? Do we sometimes forget that the avatars are real people sitting at a keyboard who have individual personalities and lives? When someone doesn't answer you in a chat right away, are they contending with four kids or simply going to the rest room? When people grief other people, do those people grief other people in real life? When someone is controlling in the game are they controlling on the other side of the screen as well? Oh well, these are questions that are really getting too deep for this a.m. On a lighter note, being that Jeff is starting in 28th place in the NASCAR race today, I don't have high hopes for him. But if you hear someone from New York screaming at the television because he is doing well, yes, that's me. Psssttt. He finished 6th and is first in points. Yay Jeff 24.
