Gravel Smashing Tournament

What: A friendly tournament with fun prizes, open for everyone!

When: Saturday, September 4th, beginning at 5pm GMT (noon EST)

Where: Pyrotechnics Stadium in Stillwater (Gravel Headquarters is at 1605, 3079, north of ULeadership)

Why: To smash up oodles of gravel needed for research

Who: YOU!!!

Here's how it works!

Each player will chat the Official to be added to the queue. When it's your turn, you'll be given 3 medium stones and a sledgehammer. Place your stones anywhere in the center starting area (within the ropes in the middle of the field). Then smash away! Break them until only gravel remains. Any gravel rocks that end in the colored tiles on the field will score points as follows:

1 point for each gravel lying in the starter area
2 points for each gravel lying in the INNER squares
5 points for each gravel lying in the CORNER squares

(for scoring photo, please see bottom of the page)

(please note, points are for each gravel animation, not for how many individual gravel pieces that animation represents)

Leave all the scoring gravel on the colored squares until your turn ends. The Official will pick them up and score for you. You may pick up non-scoring gravel as you go, but others will assist in that as well. All gravel goes to research needs, and will be stored in a Warehouse by the Gravel Headquarters Compound.

You may have as many players help smash your rocks as you like, however, all points will be awarded to the player whose turn it actually IS.

You may NOT pick up any stones that are not gravel. If you do accidentally, place them back down where you picked them up.

At the end of the players round, they may sign up again in the queue for a chance to better their score. Players may enter as often as they like. Only the top score will count for each player.

In addition to the Main Event there will be two other sponsored events!

The Great Cactus Sap Guess!

Basic Metal Treatment research needs 25,000 cactus sap!! This is far too much for one person to tackle alone. So, start collecting that sap! There will be a Secret Cactus Number of the day, and every person can make a guess at what that number is. (The number is between 100 and 1000). To make a guess, just bring that much cactus sap with you to the Smashing Tournament. There is a collection chest at the Gravel Headquarters. Be sure to tell the Tournament Offical what your guess is. Guesses of every player will be kept track of and kept secret. At the close of the tournament, the closest guess will receive a fabulous prize!!

The Cabbage Juice Race!

Well its not really a race. But that pesky Metal Treatment also needs a whooping 29,000 cabbage juice, and its our day to help. At the Gravel Headquarters there will be a Cabbage Chest with jugs and seeds, and a kitchen is ready for your juicing needs. So while you are waiting for your turn to smash, hit the grass and make some cabbages! You can also bring cabbage juice from home to be added to your total. Be sure to tell the Offical how much juice you make. Juice scores will be announced periodically through the event. The player with the most juice donated will receive a fabulous prize!!
