Vigil

We ran our first vigil on the weekend of 23rd/24th January.

Our next vigil will be held on the weekend of 14th March close to the altar in the Tariqah Ieb camp in north Adn at 994, 7665 and we have our vigil storage warehouses close by. We also have a new temporary warehouse for people travelling from outside of Adn to leave donations next to our guild hall.

Callers

Caller Guidelines

  • Participants should "sign in" with you to say they are on site and available to sac. "On site" includes being down the Nile growing papy, or away mining gems for vigil etc. A proportional amount of sacs should be saved for them to complete when they are back to the bonfire.
  • Your role is to
    • monitor the sacs needed
    • announce in Venerate chat who is to sac next
    • get the sacs from the WH and hand out to participants (when sacs get faster get some help with this if you need)
    • keep a list of sacs the bonfire asks for so we can make a master list to help prepare the next vigil (when sacs are fast, keep list on paper so you know who is saccing what and that you're rotating fairly, then you can update the wiki after the vigil has ended)
  • Everyone participating should be working on replacing vigil mats while waiting to sac.
  • Guildies of rank member and above may sac from the WHs. Initiates and others may sac if they provide sacs or are making a significant contribution to WH stocks.
  • Anyone may do one free sac for principles (but encourage them to bring a contribution).
  • Rank kinsman and above are callers and can access the WHs to help distribute sacs.

Notes

Vigil requirements have changed from T3. But we probably do not need:

  • sand of any kind
  • coconuts
  • cactus sap
  • serpent fish
  • herbs or mushrooms or anything made using them
  • exotic veggies such as peppers, cucumbers, eggplant or watermelon
  • grilled veggies of any kind
  • rabbit, chicken, snake, or silkworm products of any kind
  • alloys of any kind, or anything that would require an alloy to produce
  • glass
  • forged items of any kind
  • Large or Huge gemstones
  • citrus or aromatic honeys
  • emir mortars
  • treated wood, pyrotechnics, toxins
  • flax seeds or flower bulbs of any kind (but you will want flax and veggie seed on hand for growing some)
  • barley or wheat
  • flystones (it asks for other stone products but not for these. go figure. don't waste rocks on them.)
  • marble, concrete, cement, bauxite, gypsum, gravel
