Proposed changes to Sinani Obelisk Guild

General Position

We would like the Obelisk queue to remain in place, and we would like to see Obelisk numbers stay low, but we don’t want to lose time on passes because we are trading low Obelisks cubits back and forth, so we’re coming together as a guild to build large Obelisks instead of small ones.

Given that we’ve had some minor issues with the queue already, we’ve discussed the following plan to ensure timely passes for Obelisk. Our main concern isn’t the materials going into large Obelisks, but rather the time spent wasted as the 2 day 8 hour time starts over. We recognize that it’s not impossible for one person or a few persons to build an Obelisk 10 to 20 cubits, but once those Obelisks reach 30 or more it becomes exceptionally challenging. As the Sinai Obelisk guild, we benefit from the cooperation of each member, and as a result we can easily build Obelisks 50 cubits or more high, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

We’ll begin with an Obelisk of at least 30 cubits. From there we will continue to with the list already established. When it’s the appropriate persons turn to build their obelisk, they will check the materials out from a Guild Elder. Each time an Obelisk is jumped, we’ll build an Obelisk 5 cubits or more, again the person will check out the materials from a guild Elder.

Guild members will be required to contribute an equal number of materials for each Obelisk constructed. We’ll collect these materials for 5 Obelisks in advance, and store those materials in the Guild warehouse. Guild members will have 3 days to check said materials in with a Guild Elder. If a guild member does not check these materials in within 3 days, then they will go to the back of the list. If they fail to check materials in 3 times, they will be removed from the guild. Any member of the guild can contribute materials on behalf of another member of the guild. When the 4th Obelisk is constructed, we will begin collecting materials for the next 5 Obelisks.

The guild will never maintain anymore than 30 members at a time. Should a new member wish to join the guild, a member who has passed the test will be removed from the guild so as to make room for the new member. In order for an existing member to leave the guild, they will need to contribute materials to at least 15 Obelisks.

We've started a google groupto move communication to a more constant medium. If you are a member of the guild please go and join the google group.

Guild Hall is located at - (3141, 4403).

Coordination of this effort is going to be through a guild called "Sinai Test of the Obelisk".

Elders:

  • Zreyas
  • Amenohtep
  • Ishkiia
  • eNTi
  • Babu
  • Waerloga

**Do NOT edit this page please!**

Everyone that joins the guild needs to donate 100 boards and 200 bricks a few people shouldn't have to shoulder the entire expense. If you are on the list and your donation is not put in, then you will be taken off the list until it is given. It's just common courtesy especially early in the tale to help out with the guild hall spots.

To get yourself on the list Chat one of the above elders so that this is as fair as possible for everyone. The elder will update the list accordingly and we will have a backup list to ensure that no tampering is done. The list here is just to show where you are in the list and how we are doing and who is next.

NOTE: The two lists that had been started have been melded together alternating the names from both lists to be fair. A flip of the coin designated which list that was the one that started. And Zreyas stepped down as first spot to second to allow someone else to have the first go.

Bold names indicate their donation accepted and on ready

NOTE: We got some problems lately with Branco who refuses to get on the list and tries to put up a fight. One of the reasons we made this guild, was to ensure, that something like that won't be a problem for the people who enlisted. We may have to work a little harder and we will put up a fund to help everyone get his obelisk up in that particular order. Please people - whoever you are - remember that you not only hurt the next one in line, if you try to put up a fight. You will also hurt everyone else including yourself. All this extra resources could be going research, other buildings or even help newcommers.
