NaTraNe - The National Transport Network

The Basic Idea

This is a technology idea to facilitate the moving of large amounts of goods around Egypt, ore, bricks, boards, things such as that.

The core principle is a series of towers connected with ropes, from which containers can be hung. The container can be moved from tower to tower, with goods inside.

Possibilites:

1) Fuel for the system: Either human (wound clockwork) or steam (charcoal, petro or coal) powered. X fuel takes you X distance. Fuel hopper (springboxes if clockwork, hopper if fuel-fed) can be upgraded. It will be possible to 'overload' the fuel hopper, but will take up some of the space for goods.

2) Altitude differences greater than X would require upgrades to towers, such as cogs, springboxes etc.

3) Containers can be upgraded to take larger loads, heavier loads.

4) Towers/ropes/cables can be upgraded to take heavier loads

5) Containers can be upgraded to carry people

6) Ownership of towers/containers: Is it required or should they be public?

7) Unloading towers: Towers where a container is automatically unloaded into a 'stockhouse'.

8) Route mapping: Probably the biggest sticker of the bunch. How can the container be sent to various destinations?

9) Gravity effect on fuel: Going down hill takes less fuel, reverse for up hill? Would add a measure of surveying to the tech.

10) Towers are placed similar to aqueduct towers. There is a hexagonal grid to which the towers are constrained.
