Off Season Wheat

Akhet Wheat info

Wheat Statistics

Yield tested based off running a grid of 4x5. Two rows of one wheat and two rows of another wheat are grown and harvested for 30 mins. I've been doing all testing in a similar maner, so that I can attempt to compare the results. Note that there is some randomness in producing wheat (Weeds, lag, slow reflexes, etc).

Current Theories

  • Output yield bonus: More GR gene sets = larger yield when harvesting.
  • Dirt: Only common gene sets GR, RY, and YO. (Tunnen#33 disproved YORRG theory)
  • Sand: ORRGYU (Or portion thereof) - Hasn't been looked at in detail since YORRG disproven.
    • Must be at least ORRGY as Tunnen#50 shows. Has ORRG still but lost the O from the ORRGY(U) portion and is not able to grow on sand.

Old Theories

  • Sand - ORRGYU (Or portion thereof)
  • Dirt - YORRG (Or portion thereof)
    • ORRGY and YORRG?
      • Appearently not. Tunnen#33 disproved that. I'll have to go back and look at other possible connections. According to others, Druze also grows on dirt but is missing the YORRG.
  • GYU seems to be common to all strains that have a lower yield. (I still haven't logged a lot of yield testing though and since wheat yield is not constant, this could just be a coincidence)
    • As my testing of the wheat progresses, this is looking more and more likely. I'm in the process of working towards creating a strain with two GYUs in it to see if there is another drop in productivity.
      • First test of wheat with two GYUs in it has resulted in the weak stalk message. See Tunnen#21. This could also have something to do with the close proximity of the YORRG (Assumed Dirt) gene set.
        • Going to have to take another look at this as the YORRG gene set was disproven, so the second GYU could have altered a component needed to grow on dirt at all.
          • GYU appears to be a coincidence, since all my creations of GYU sacrificed a GR gene set. All wheat yeild tests currently fit into GR theory.
  • Continuing on with this dirt gene set. After Tunnen#33 I went back to check common gene sets with all dirt growable wheat(including Druze) and the only common set of genes I can find are GR, RY, and YO. Tunnen#21 lost the GR gene set so that may prove that component, yet there was also the double GYU experiment so I can't prove it without more tests.
    • Candomble is also missing a GR gene set and also can't grow on dirt, yet no one has been able to grow it anywhere, so again no help in proving this one way or another.
