Revision as of 01:33, 23 June 2009

Wheat was introduced to Tale 4 with a roleplaying event on June 21, 2009.

To use wheat for any purpose other than planting, it must be dried. Similar to drying straw, wheat can be dried by dropping it on the ground, or by placing it in a Drying Rack or Flax Hammock (up to 100 at a time). Upon drying, it becomes Wheat (Dried, Raw) -- the strain no longer matters. Wheat (Dried, Raw) can be roasted in a Grain Oven to produce Wheat (Light Roasted), Wheat (Medium Roasted), Wheat (Dark Roasted), and Wheat (Burnt).

Wheat is used in Beer and Cooking. It may have other uses.

  • It is possible to create Wheat Extract at a Kitchen, but it takes 20,000 wheat.

So far, the Peret: Druze strain behaves as it did in Tale 3.

Each kind of wheat is growable only during the season (Akhet, Peret, Shemu) it is listed for. (e.g. Peret during Peret months, Akhet during Ahket months etc.)

  • Peret Wheat: Druze is grown on Grass
  • Peret Wheat: Santeria is grown on Dirt or Sand
  • Peret Wheat: Wicca is grown on Sand

Cultivation

Wheat Peret: Druze

Grown on grass and requires only water. Every growth cycle (approximately 4 seconds) one of 7 weeds will either appear or disappear. Water every 7th cycle and harvest when all the weeds are gone. Failure to harvest in the weed-free growth cycle will resume the weeds.

Initial observations indicate that longer growth time results in greater harvests. Also, the more wheat beds that are grown in proximity increases the harvest.
