If you have any questions, feels free to send me a chat:

  • In your main chat tab, type /chat Arcania
  • Hit enter. This will open a new tab in the group of tabs already on the bottom right of your screen.
  • Say hi to me.

Welcome Island

This is where you start. There is a shorter guide to getting through Welcome Island, Citizenship, which displays what you need to gather in list form, but here is something with more detail.

Navigation

When you arrive on Welcome Island, you will see several statues that look like this:

Find a Mentor

This is not strictly necessary. However, it makes to game easier to have some who wants to help you out.

  • First of all, unlike on Welcome Island, mentors do not have the "Mentor" prefix to their name. However, there are many people who will want to be your mentor.
  • Secondly, almost all mentors are collecting Mentorship Decrees for the Test of Mentorship. If you have a paid account, you seven them from the University of Leadership, one for each level you reach. You cannot use your own Mentorship Decrees for your own test, so they can be given away to people you feel have helped you.

There are several ways to find a mentor.

  • There are several guilds devoted specifically to mentoring. PUT PAGE HERE
  • A Guild Building like this: Guild Hall. To join a Guild, click on the Guild Hall and apply. While you're at it, click on the list of members and /chat an elder about joining. By the way, you can't actually get inside the building. It's more like an interface through which you apply for a guild. However, many guilds have guild-owned buildings around the Guild Hall that you can explore.
  • Ask questions of those around you. Many players prefer that you use /chat to talk to them. You can just ask questions in your main chat, but many times people do not see it. If someone doesn't respond, don't be offended - they may just have their tabs minimized and not notice a new tab.

Gathering Supplies

Getting Hard-to-Find Supplies

Many people are happy to help. Here are some ways ideas and etquitte:

  • Ask, don't demand
  • Offer to trade something that you have for something that you want. For example, slate is something everyone has a pain gathering, but many people don't want to trade for something that is hard for you to gather. People might be willing to trade for something that's easy for you to gather - like straw.
  • Some Guilds offer supplies to Initiates.
  • Check out The Goods to see if they have what you need. In order to use their page, you first need to set up an OpenID through the game that works on both The Goods page as well as this wiki. Log In Instructions
