Costume Exhibition -- Construction Period (1 Week)

In anticipation of the modern festival of their ancient lord's domain, the Followers of Anubis call forth to all the artists and crafters amongst the land to create a great exhibition of costumes so that Egypt may be ready for a celebration on the day of many names... Samhain, All Hallow's Eve, or the more modern "Halloween."

Build a costume sculpture in the valley at 1000, -830 Saqqarah. The weekend before Halloween all of Egypt will have a chance to Judge. The costume may be of anything you like, and use of props are encouraged.

"Treats" will be given to all costume designers and judges for their participation in the event.

The top 5 voted designs will also receive a prize from the following list:
An Essence of Harmony Kit
Coils and Tongs for a Metal Treatment Tank
9500+ Quality Shovel
2 Sharp Edged Knives
2 Mine Automation Kits (with instillation if required)

Treats for designers will include (but may not be limited to):
A selection of Raeli Tiles including Aqua
A selection of wine from the recently revived Phoenix Vineyards

Treats for Judges will include:
A selection of Raeli Tiles including 50 "Yellowish"
A selection of Metals including Gold, Silver, and Antimony

A Mystery Chemistry Product!

Costume Exhibition -- Judging Period (2 Days)

In anticipation of the modern festival of their ancient lord's domain, the Followers of Anubis have called forth all the artists and crafters amongst the land to create a great exhibition of costumes so that Egypt may be ready for a celebration on the day of many names... Samhain, All Hallow's Eve, or the more modern "Halloween." Now that they have done so, they are overwhelmed with the choices. Please help them choose amongst the best so they may offer them up to Anubis!

Next to each sculpture there is a publicaly stashable basket, owned by Nchanter, for the collection of votes. Please stash a wooden chit with your name carved upon it into the basket of your three favorite looks. Please vote for 3 exactly, no more, no less, so that your votes may be counted in full.

"Treats" will be given to all costume designers and judges for their participation in the event.

Rules

  • Anyone may enter the contest by creating a beautiful Halloween themed gown or costume at 1000, -830 Saqqarah. The sculptures must all be located within that valley (Orange Marked Area on the image)
  • You may create as many gowns as you wish.
  • You may use as many sculpture bases as you wish.
  • When your garment is finished, place yourself or your model in it, and screenshot. Please post your screenshot in the Gallery. Don't forget to do it, people will mostly use this gallery to see how it looks wonderful when someone's wearing it!

Tips

  • So you can get into your garment later, BEFORE YOU BUILD IT, choose your spot, make a waypoint at the exact position your outfit is to be built; walk away; orient yourself in the correct direction; waypoint back to the spot. You are now ready to begin building!
  • Build the base of the costume on yourself, so it will fit you.
  • Caution: Avoid the "BUG"! If you use multiple sculpture sites, avoid spreading to include much more land. Keep it tight, and oriented in the same direction. Otherwise, your garment will become mishaped and dishoveled.

Judging

Judging Period: Friday, October $blah, 3pm EDT to Sunday, 3pm EDT

  • Everyone is welcome to judge and vote on the gowns.
  • To count the votes, we'll ask each voter to drop 3 personal chits in the baskets (1 per basket) in front of their favorite entries.
  • Each voter should vote for 3 entries. People who vote for less than 3 may have their votes count less.
  • To make a personal chit, choose Skills, Carving, Level 2, Whittle a Personal Chit. You will need 1 wood per chit, and a glass knife or better.
  • At the end of the judging period, we will count the chits in each chest, and will announce the scores in E!.

Note: The artists are welcome to come and stand in their gowns while judging is going on, so that voters can see how the gown fit its model. If artists can't come, people can see the images posted on the Gallery.
