Paradise Public Works (PPW)

News!

  • Our guild hall is overflowing!
    These 10-15 person expansions are killing us. Now that carpentry blades are available, we will do a major expansion. The plan calls for 35 new slots, bringing us to 100 member capacity and would cost 15825 boards and 31600 bricks. I will be making a warehouse to store donations of wood (boards), straw (bricks), and metal (carp blades).
    Below is what we need total as of last edit:
    • Wood: Need 15,000 of the 15,825 total.
    • Straw: Need 10,000 of the 10,550 total.
    • Metal: Need 30 copper or iron.
  • There will be a Vigil conducted in Nomad's Paradise, near UHarmony.
    It will start Friday, January 8th, at 7 p.m. and run until, hopefully, late Saturday evening. The more participants, the better - check region chat for any materials they may be running short on.
  • We now have a Projects Page to list our current construction and research priorities!

About Us

We are a public works guild based in Nomads' Paradise. As a group, we have three major goals:

  • Construction of Public Facilities
  • Regional Research
  • Public Resources

Public Access. Guild resources will be allocated to projects based on the priorities above. As such, valuable resources such as mines will not initially be public, but as construction and research needs diminish, they will be transitioned into public use.

Donations. We will soon have a 'donation warehouse.' If you wish to contribute to the guild in general, simply stash materials there. If you are donating it for a specific purpose, /chat Quin the details. If we receive donations for a specific project (i.e. a mine for public use), they will be used solely for that purpose.

Membership. We welcome everyone, though will give priority to those living in the region. Sadly, because of their transient nature, and the long-term focus of our guild, we will not accept applications from trial accounts. I hope to set up a mentoring guild for new and learning players in the near future.

Rank. Promotions are based on very nonnumerical factors such as community, leadership, and generosity. It our belief that such factors are worth trust and respect.

Trust. By default, we try to trust everyone. If you need something for a test, principle, or personal use and you see it in a guild chest, please ask! As long as we know where it is going, there should be no problem. However, if items of value are removed from guild chests without asking and are not returned, you are not just stealing from the guild, but from the community.

PPW North Facility at -1140, 3480 (NE of the Chariot). Ideally located near our mines, limestone, white sand and an expedition site this facility will try to consolidate most of the metalworking, glass and other polluting buildings.
