For the first time in 3 tales, I'm running for DP !

I feel some explainations are necessary.

Hello Everyone.

Eventhough noone seems to have any questions, I will explain here why I wanna be DP. But first of all, let me point out that as you probably guessed, english is not my first language, so please, excuse in advance any errors :)

To me DP role has been created, not as a test, but much more as a way to help solving problems and conflicts that may arrise in Egypt.

Eventhough we're just "playing a game", there are, to my point of view, unwritten rules that should apply to everyone. Its true that we all pay to play. So we should be allowed to do what ever we want. But this statement has a limit : it stops where rights of others to play starts.

In real life, we live in society. We have laws that apply to everyone. Our freedom to do whatever we feel like stops where other people freedom begins. And our freedom also stops where laws apply.

In this game, eventhough we have very few written rules, and eventhough we all pay for this game, it is the right of everyone to enjoy himself, and find here a place of fun which does not impact other people fun.

So to me, this is what should be kept in mind when assuming a DP role.

Why do I want to be a DP ? Well, I very much enjoy this game, and I would like other people to be able to enjoy themselves as much as I am. I've always helped everyone where and when I could, and I will keep this way (since this is one of my goal and big pleasure IRL). Since I'm european, and I do speak english enough to understand people and be understood by them (at least I hope so !), I do think having a european DP would be a good thing in particular in solving conflicts which would not have arrised if the 2 or more people had spoken the same language.

What tools do we have to help achieving this goal ? Not much unfortunately. We don't have Law courts or something equivalent. All we can do (at least at the begining of a conflict) is : listen to both parts and try to help finding a solution by discussion.

Obviously, there are times where this is not gonna be sufficent. DP's have Ban powers. How this should be understood ?

In my opinion, the way this Ban power should be used is as follow : 1. A DP should never use a ban power to solve personal conflicts. Those conflicts, when arrise, should be handled by other DPS. 2. A ban should not be issued by a single person. We should try, as hard as we can, to get A DP majority decision to ban someone. 3. Where a majority can not be obtained (or if we have a single DP playing), a ballot should be run and it would then be Egypt people decision to give a ban or not. 4. When DPs decide to use a ban, they should consider how they would themselve consider the fact of being banned by others...

So, will I use ban ? Yes, but only in extreme situations (which is situation where the conflict prevents people from playing as they wish), and only following the above rules.

Is the Ban "tool" necessary or a good thing ? I would love to see a society which would exists without jails and punishments but I'm afraid this is just... Utopia. So, since we don't have other tools than banning someone for very bad actions, I have to say that this tool is necessary. Unless Teppy accepts one day to implement a Law court with judges and everything which goes with it :)

Of course, I would appreciate you voting for me, but, in case I'm elected as DP and you did not vote for me, I still will not use my DP ban power against you, so please, vote as you wish :) Thanks of having the patience to read this long message :)
