Supply and Demand Rules the World Begins Saturday, December 17, 2011 5:00 PM All of Egypt Ends Sunday, December 18, 2011 1:00 AM The Commander was bowed over, head in hands, his grief so heavy. Not a single one of his men could he find about the ship. Summoning his willpower, the tall man straightened and looked around. To his right was a land bridge nearby and some sort of architecture across the wide river that he had sought for shelter. To the north was a fork of land. From off the north coast, barely had the boat drifted down the river that was rumoured to be so long.

The culture must be civilized here as the old Egyptian slave had told him. Still, this people could not be as advanced as his own, the captain mulled to himself. He would no doubt be finding out shortly. He had taken a huge risk and the investors backing him would be angered if they could see the shape the ship was now in and that the expense of hiring the finest crew might be lost. These Egyptians, they must prove to be worth the lives lost and gold gone.

Highest priority, his logical mind calculated, was to gather the people and enjoin them to help recover belongings. He still had a stash of valuable goods he could barter for his lost cargo with. Several horses were still tethered down in the belly of the boat for him to ride about on to different regions. This first contact would be a valuable clue as to how savvy in trade haggling these Egyptians could be.
