Limestone is a sedimentary rock found in natural deposits around Egypt. Its main value is as a source of lime, from burning in a Firepit or Crematory.

It can be gathered with a Flint Hammer and Flint Chisel (producing 1 limestone per hit), or with a Heavy Mallet and a Lead Chisel (producing 3 limestone per hit). It's a good idea to bring multiple chisels when gathering limestone. Flint chisels have a tendency to shatter with use. Lead chisels also wear out, although they last much longer. Gathering limestone uses Endurance, so food that boosts End helps a lot.

Yield: Gathering limestone will also give soda with a 20-25% chance per hit, as a side effect.

Test done in T7: 498 limestone gathered in 166 hits (at Hinterlands 1867, 2081) with lead tools (Heavy Mallet and Lead Chisel). Soda yield: 37, which is 22.3% of pulls (or 7.4% of limestone). More yield information can be added later for bigger tests or tests under certain circumstances (for example night/day or solo/together or different locations).

Limestone deposits are bright white and easy to notice.
