A Petition: Creation of Regional Senates (Game Feature)
The following law will allow the permanent creation of regional Senates
Purpose and Functions of the regional Senates: 1) Act as an Leadership and coordination point for regional-wide projects 2) Provide an opportunity for citizens to serve in a leadership capacity 3) Serve as an advisory group for citizens for any gameplay subject. 4) If requested by a DP; serve as an advisory group.
Membership requirements: 1) The citizen must have their primary CP and primary Guild located within the region of the senate they wish to be on. 2) The citizen must be a current paid player. 3) No more than 1 member of a regional guild can be a member of the regional senate. 4) A citizen may only be a member of one Senate at any time. This limit includes the citizens additional characters.
Election process:
1) Each Senate will have 5 members 1) Citizens may sign up at a voting booth to join the election ballot 2) A mininum of 5 citizens is required to begin the voting process. 2) The election period will last 1 week. 4) The top 5 vote-getters, regardless of ties, will assume the position/title of Senator. a) In the event of a tie of the 5th position; the first citizen who signed up as a nominee will be awarded the position. 5) The election results will be announced in System Chat.
Term of Office & Restrictions: 1) The term of office will last 2 months Real Time. 2) There is no limit to the number of terms a Citizen may serve. 3) In the event a Senator become absent or quits; the remaining Senators will direct nominate a replacement. a) The nominated citizen must obtain 3 of the 4 votes. b) In the event of a tie; the process will be repeated. c) The term of the replacement Senator will expire upon the existing end of the current term date. d) The replacement Senator will be anounced in the Senate Chat. 4) A DP may not serve as a Senator; nor any other characters of the DP.
Communications: 1) A new chat channel entitled "Senate of "The Named Region" will appear. 2) Elected senators chatting in the the Senate channel will have the title "Senator" placed with their name so as to identify themselves during chatting.
