Tanafri and Hekatef were married upon the afternoon of Peret II.

Several of our friends were there to witness the union, and afterwards to celebrate with us. Many fine new brews were made available by Hekatef. Our day was further blessed by the arrival of one who was close to Sami and was able to join us in drinking a toast to our most beloved, rightful Pharaoh.

Upon this day we both received the double blessing of a new grain, wheat, with which to symbolize our fertility and our union as a couple.

My wedding vows:

Today do I give myself to Hekatef as his wife, and do swear by these vows: As a flower I shall be to my husband, arrayed and scented for his delight. As honey I shall be to my husband, to be a sweetness upon his lips. As a reed I shall be to my husband, to bend to his will and yet not break. As a jewel I shall be to my husband, to adorn his brow with dignity. As the fertile Nile valley I shall be to my husband, to raise and tend his house. As a mighty tower I shall be to my husband, to guard his honour with strength. All these things I shall do, and should I fail in any of my duties as a wife and bring shame upon my husband and his house, may Isis strike me as baren and blot my name from Egypt forever.
