This building (21x21) comes in three varieties, fueled by Petroleum, charcoal, or coal. It is used to make Cement and Concrete.

Construction

All three varieties are built in a compound and cost:

Usage

  • The Petroleum version takes 40 Petroleum to fire.
  • The Charcoal version takes 800 charcoal to fire.
  • The Coal version takes 800 Coal to fire.

Making a batch of 250 Concrete costs:

  • 250 Gravel
  • 15 Cement
  • 100 Water in Jugs
  • NOTE: This does not require any stirring -- just mix the ingredients and take it. All water in vat will be used, so if you put more than 100 water, it will all be used.

Making a batch of 100 Cement costs:

  • 10 Bauxite
  • 10 Gypsum
  • 800 Clinker
  • 500 Water in Jugs
  • NOTE: Even though you are required to put in 500 Water in Jugs it will only use the water, not the jugs.

You can run as many cement batches off this 500 water as you like; it will not be used provided that you do not mix concrete. --Sedelyan

Stirring

  • It takes about 100 stirs to make a batch of cement. Depending on the food you have eaten and the number of people stirring this takes a variable amount of time. - I did about 280 stirs today when preparing cement, seems 100 is the number for team of 3 ppl (Nickolayitch 22 Oct 07)

Once started, the cement must be stirred continuously by a team of people (strength and endurance timer of 45 seconds with 0 STR AND 0 END) or it will solidify and all ingredients wasted. The stir timer without food is 45 secs. Stirring starts out easy, but the stirs have to come closer and closer together as it gets closer to completion (about 10 second timeframe at end). Progress is made with each stir so you will want to get good food and stir as often as possible. Towards the end (depending on the food) people may need to let the timer tick down the appropriate amount before stirring so a round is not over before the first person can stir again).

  • At the end of a stir, the timer is precisely 12 seconds. This means that with food of at least 21 strength and endurance, you can produce Cement by yourself...but with absolutely no window whatsoever. You have to be good, and you have to be fast, and you have to be *constantly* checking...especially if there's a serverside lag spike. --Sedelyan
