The Touristor
Be recognized by Egypt as a top leader of tours.
Test Pass Summary
To pass the test you must be Egypt’s top tour leader by having the most accumulated points from tourist groups when the weekly test pass is run.
Tour Setup
After registering for the test, the tour leader then may establish their tour regime.
First, the tourist banner podium (nails, treated wood, silk cloth, ink and papyrus paper)is built where the tour starts and the tourist spots that tour groups will be taken to are listed.
At each tourist spot, the leader will place a plaque (1 marble any type, 1 ink), each plaque must be a minimum of [1000] distance from the other plaques and the starting tourist banner podium in the game [including chariot stops].
A tour will be comprised of a minimum of 5 tourist spots to visit.
At each player spot on the plaque the leader will have inscribed the description of the significance of the spot due to natural location, nearby structures, past events etc.
The leader may as part of the tour conduct a demonstration of skill or run a tutorial near a plaque spot.
At each plaque, the leader will also create a set of 3 questions relating to the activity or significance of the location, and the correct answer that the tourists answer so they know the tourists are following along.
NOTE: feedback received - "reduce fraudulent tours and I think the distance is WAY too short". I've adjusted (in square brackets) where it seems appropriate to bring the proposal in line with feedback.
Opening The Tour
After tour leader sets all this up, the tour may be opened for tourists.
Tourists apply for the tour group by signing up at the tourist banner podium. After 7 players have signed up on the list to be tourists, the leader may begin the tours.
Conducting The Tour
To hold a successful tour a number of conditions must be met:
- The minimum tour group size to start the tour is [7} tourists and 1 leader.
- The tour must start at the tourist banner podium with each tourist clicking join current tour, and the leader clicks start tour after all have joined.
- If the leader goes offline during the tour, no credit will be given, if a tourist player goes offline anytime during the tour they will be removed from the tour group.
- The leader must ensure that all tourists are always within 20 coordinates of them
- If a tourist strays from the group for more than 5 seconds the leader will lose them from the tour group and not get credit from them, during the 5 seconds count down a message will appear in main as warning count-down, and finally after the 5 second period if the tourist is farther than 20coords from the leader a pop-up window will inform both the leader and tourist of the fact they were kicked from the tour.
- At each tour spot (plaque), the leader will make the explanation or demonstration for the tour group. The leader will then click done on the tour spot.
- The tourists will then click on the tour plaque, and have to answer the question correctly posed by the tour plaque; the tourist will get 3 tries to type it correctly, or they will fail out of the group.
- The answer should have been explained by the leader during the demonstration or explanation, and the tour leader may need to repeat this many times for slow tourists.
- After all tour sports are visited by the group, the order is not important, but all spots must be visited, the group returns to the tourist banner podium.
Earning The Tour Points
Each tourist then rates the guided tour to grant to the tour leader:
- 5 points BEST TOUR EVER
- 3 points great tour
- 1 point OK I guess
- 0 points WORST TOUR EVER.
Getting Bonus Tour Points
The larger the number of tourists successfully guided in a single group, will grant a bonus multiplier.
- 1 or 2 tourists in completed group = no bonus
- 3 or 4 tourists = 50% bonus applied to sum of the tour
- 5 to 7 tourists = double bonus applied to sum of the tour
- 8 to 10 tourists = triple bonus applied to sum of rating
- Each additional 3 tourists beyond this will increase the bonus by another 100%.
Viewing Tour Performance
The leader cannot see what the ratings were made by the tourists, but every week the tourist banner podium will have a shiny golden shaded falcon rating graphic on the banner it that displays the updated average #of falcons awarded from 0 to 5 falcons (stars).
Points are accumulated from each tour group you successfully lead until you pass the test or tear down your podium.
Tour Limitations
A tourist may only be in 1 tour at a time.
A tourist may not join again a tour they have already competed (rated).
Leaders may only have 1 tour, to make a different tour regime the old podium must be torn down, this will drop the accumulated points thus far back to zero.
Test Benefits
Players signing up for the test will receive a 1db tiny magic cat statue (size of phoenix models).
Players may place this statue on the ground.
Players may feed this statue fish up to the amount of points that have been accumulated from the tour groups you led. This will cause the statue to grow in size.
The Player who has led the most amount of tourists concurrently in one tour group will gain the title of "Herder of Cats"
