Overview

This mostly as per the chats...more details will follow.

In the Test of True Leadership, you are tasked with demonstrating leadership ability by assisting other players with various projects. To contrast this from Mentorship, you are helping established players in this test, as opposed to new players.

The test is divided into two parts: The Nomination phase, and the Voting phase.

Nomination

When a large project is completed, players involved will get a certain number of nominations, depending on the project. A player may then give any number of these nominations to whoever they feel helped them accomplish their task (they may not give these nominations to themselves).

Projects that award nominations include certain tests, pyramid building, monuments, and passing laws.

And so beyond the fact that I haven't listed each of the individual projects, I feel like that above abstraction is still missing something.

Nominations for tests will be retroactive, in that if you completed one of the tests that award nominations before this test was released, you'll be given the nominations to award. This does not apply to laws or pyramids, however.

Tests that award 3 nominations

  • Oyster Catcher
  • Leavened Bread
  • Ka
  • Acrobat
  • Life
  • Scarabs
  • Bureaucrat
  • Octec's Ghost
  • Festivals
  • Pyrotechnics
  • Alignment
  • Takeskot
  • Humble Priests
  • Mentorship
  • Megalopolis
  • Phoenix
  • Pilgrim
  • Funerary Temple
  • Sphinx
  • Safari
  • Vigil

Tests that award 1 nomination

  • Banquet
  • Beacons
  • Holy Shrine
  • Darkest Night
  • Towers
  • Obelisk
  • Visions

(Note that these lists may include tests that won't be returning for this tale)

To nominate somebody, visit any ballot box. It will list the projects you have been a part of and the number of nominations you have left for that particular project.

Voting

Each week, the 21 players with the most nominations will be put on an Egypt-wide ballot. Quit or expired players will not show up on the ballot. Everybody in Egypt may vote. You may vote for more than one person on the list, and this will divide your support between all the players you vote for (though note that voting for everybody on the list is essentially like not voting at all). The person who receives the most support on this ballot passes the test.

If you make it onto the ballot but do not pass, your nominations remain, so you will likely show up on the next week's ballot too.

ULeadership currently says one pass a week... the test was writen for 7 passes a week and "Pharaoh: And then the top 7 people each ballot (each TeppyWeek) pass the Test of True Leadership." I have a call into Teppy to find out if he changed something the last minute. - Balthazarr

REWARD

The winners of this test get the opportunity to build a beacon wich lasts 24 hours, providing a bonus of 7 points in ONE of the statistics (strengh, dexterity, ...) to each player in its proximity. This bonus stacks with all the other bonuses the players already have. TAKE CARE : it's a ONE USE OPTION : chose wisely the moment and the bonus.
