Great Pharoah, oh be merciful!

Your people are under a great affliction and the scourge of inequality rages across the lands of Egypt like a raging bull scattering the faithful unto other lands. We humbly beseech you to place the following remedies for this ill to a public vote.

The First Request: to offset the current stagnation in obelisk building we ask that at the end of each Egyptian season (Ahket, Peret, etc) the minimum size for passing the test be reset to 77 in each of your territories; or, if the largest obelisk in the region is currently lower than 77, then the required size would stand. New Egyptians will then have renewed vigour for celebrating the turning of each season with construction of obelisks to your honour.

The Second Request: for those afflicted with the joy of acrobatics, we suggest that Pharaoh randomly select 7 ‘Pharaoh’s Favourites’ for each season from the paid citizens who have completed the test. These people would lose 7 acro moves, one skill point and Masterful Dexterity but not their test pass. These skills can be regained by practise. As a result, those who have been frustrated in their ability to pass the test because there are few people to teach would be able to find Egyptians to consort with. In recompense, “Favourites” would receive the right to request from Pharaoh a ‘boon’ in the form of a research donation for any research project.

The Third Request: It occurs to us that the pyrotechnics test is a test of collaboration rather than of artistic merit. There are many other tests that challenge Egyptians to collaborate! The following adjustment might address this. We ask that those who wish to exhibit their shells take their completed mortars to the University of Art to register during a scheduled registration period prior to a scheduled show. The University scientists place it in a safe repository until advertised show time. Registered entries are exhibited over several days in a showground set up in the Conflict Arena. During this time each registered shell may be viewed by any citizen and by the judges.. A popular choice vote available through a Voting Booth within the Conflict Arena could enable all Egyptians to make a popular choice after viewing the entrants. Exhibitors could offer prizes to attempt to sway the popular vote and increase interest in the competition, thereby increasing the opportunities for drama for the entertainment of all. Judges may be drawn from those who register as a judge at pyrotechnics stadiums Judges would have the full show period to review the artistry of each exhibit and judge by closed ballot similar to the DP voting process. Judges should be accountable for their choices and make a short statement about the reason for their choice which could be displayed in Events or Systems channel when the winner is announced.

Oh hear us great Pharoah!! We humbly submit that these changes will increase the motivation and resilience of your people and bring a new lease of life to mid-tale stagnation.

Signed

The People of Egypt
