On the mediawiki help files & manuals I was looking for a way to do more interesting things with tables. In trying to get it to work, I finally realized that this was a bit of a work-around & not clearly explained. The <code><nowiki>{{!}}</nowiki></code> that they were using was actually a template that consisted of <code><nowiki>|</nowiki></code>

Usage

Since this template didn't exist in atitd wiki yet, it wasn't working. So now it does and will work like in the example template on wikimedia.org

This template allows for use of {{!}} to add the wiki-markup of | (pipe) as used in tables, links, etc into inline queries. Since that's what I was working on, that's why I'm creating this template.
