Proposal 1

Just as a start, I propose introducing Egyptians to Nonograms in the next tale, as outlined in The Test of the Alchemist's Rune.

It's fairly simple to set up, and the programming should not be extraordinary. It is most similar to, and would probably be a suitable replacement for, either Pathmaker or Hexaglyph.

One problem it shares with those tests however is that the designer in creating the puzzle only focuses on the finished product. They may not have thought through the steps of solving it in the same way that subsequent players will, and so may design a puzzle which is arbitrarily hard. That is one point which would be in favor of Test of Gemology which was put forward by Avanya in tale 5.

Proposal 2

Alternatively, another option could be The Test of the Engineer which could be used as a training aid similar to Test of the Bijou except that it would be used for creating challenges and training people to be proficient in gearboxes.

Additionally, I have proposed that it add a new skill, Engineering Prowess which will encourage people to refine gearboxes and make them with as small of gears as possible, and with as few gears as possible just like a real gearbox. This skill would display on the character sheet just like a character's Pulse of the People score does now.

If that last element could be implemented, it would make a fine replacement for Pulse of the People to avoid cluttering character sheets with yet another skill, but still have something there for people to strive to compete over.
