A Springbox can be fitted to some machines to increase their operating speed. This performance improvement may be applied regardless of whether the machine has been tuned.

Source

Made using Self>Skills>Assembly...>Assemble a Spring Box. Requires Advanced Automation

Cost

The quality of the spring used will affect the performance improvement. Higher quality is better.

  • Quality of around 7500 appears to increase rate by 2x.
  • Quality of 8500 appears to increase rate by 2.5x.
  • Quality of 9429 for a Steam Shovel gives a 3.8x production increase

The gearbox required may be determined by using the Check Spring Box requirement option of the Utility submenu of the machine.

Note: Removing a Spring Box from a building (to change to a higher quality Spring Box, for example) changes the Gear Box requirement.
