Test of the Potter

Players will compete to produce the most beautiful piece of pottery.

Making the Pottery

A potter’s wheel is used to throw clay and mold it into shape. The cost may be same as a pottery wheel, but hope different graphic.

Players will be able to control the rotation, the pressure, and direction to draw out the clay.

Players can choose where and angle to slice off the piece from the wheel.

Making More Complex Pieces

Players can affix molded clay pieces together (using rotational/movement tools from sculpture) to make more complex shapes, such as a teapot.

Glazing the Pottery

Players can choose the type of glaze/finish to apply to each piece before firing it in a kiln.

The glaze material chosen (charcoal, metallic salt, metallic powders, lime, crushed gem etc) will give the piece a characteristic glaze look for that material, if multiple materials are chosen they will blend together their effects, like charcoal may give a dark mirror glaze, adding crushed rubies would add red sparkles into the glaze, and adding aluminum powder would add silver swirl pattern.

Displaying the Piece

After firing in a kiln, players then build a pedestal to display the pottery piece on and open for voting.

The piece will be giant sized (larger than practical for game purposes).

Pass Criteria

As with other art tests, the ones with highest voting will pass.
