Research notes

This page will hold an abbreviated summary of research notes. Most of the data will actually be kept on excel spreadsheets. If you would like access to full notes, please send me a message in game.

To get a general feel for the stat and scent map, I will be testing a number of different resins/herbs 10 times, with 50 additions each from different starting values. Hopefully this will give a broad overview of where different stats/scents lie in relation to each other along with information on which resins/herbs will lead to a particular stat/scent value.

And of course, there is the wiki's incense guide, but the data on herbs and resins is from a previous tale and should not be trusted.

Key to abbreviate notes

The format of the notes below will be as follows.

Resin name Final stat that you'll get to if you flood the incense with this resin
Starting value of incense || First Stat (Number of resin that leads to max quality of initial stats {quality}) || Second Stat (Number of resin that leads to first sign of stat, number of resin that leads to max quality of second stat{quality}) || Third stat . . .

For example, for my first test on Delta Palm, the incense started out as quality 780 with a scent of Musk and a Suspicious Speed and Confusion (-Perception). By adding one Delta Palm resin, the stat changed to increasing Focus but penalizing Strength. Adding one more Delta Palm resin increased the quality to 840. The third resin dropped the quality, and on the fourth resin the stats affected changed to +Focus -Perception. Adding more resin increased the quality until after the seventh resin the quality was 873. Adding more resin caused the quality to drop, and on the 24th addition of resin the stats affected changed to +Strength -Focus. It had a quality of 692 at this point, and adding more resin caused the quality to keep dropping. By the 26th addition of resin, the stats had changed to +Perception -Speed and quality continued to rise even up until the 50th addition of resin where the quality ended at 728. At that point I ceased the test and moved on to a new piece of incense.
