Quick and Dirty Lab Low Down

FIRST THINGS FIRST

TECHS NEEDED

  • Must have access to a Chemistry Lab with Essential Macerator and Alcohol Lamp Upgrades as well as basic glassware. Calibration is unnecessary but will help with material costs.
  • Must have access to an alembic/wines & beers/charcoal or a stockpile of Spirits at least these types: Rock, Wood, Worm, Grain, Vegetable, Mineral, Fish, Grey. I prefer Spirits of FIRE, or if I have to, at least WATER, but if you only have EARTH, use them (and make better ones next time). Grey spirits are grey in both type and quality.
  • Must have RAW MATERIALS or access to them.
    • Herbs, Resins, Metal Salts, Powdered Gems

FINDING WHAT ATTRIBUTES YOUR EXTRACT NEEDS

Basic Explanation...Do this on whichever lab you want...

To find out what extract attributes you need, Click on the Lab> Manufacture> Extracts> choose the extract you need.

A box pops up, WOW! Listed at the top are 2-3 attributes your essential mixture needs to get that extract from that lab. WRITE THEM DOWN IN EITHER A NOTEBOOK OR A NOTEPAD PROGRAM. Also it is a good idea is to write down which lab you are at.

Look up your extract attributes to find if it is possible and what you need to make it.

  • Tallow's Recipe Book (cheaper option if you have access to metal salts)
  • The extract page (make sure to check that it is the right EXTRACT!)

SOME EXTRACTS ATTRIBUTE COMBINATIONS ARE STILL IMPOSSIBLE.

If you find one that is on either list, gather 20-30 of each material listed and continue.

If it isn't listed on either list, you have a choice. You can fool with VeggieTales and possibly make the wrong essence and so waste material or you may choose another extract to make to reset the lab.

HURRY UP AND WAIT: ESSENCES IN A NUTSHELL

OPEN THIS PAGE Essence Chart

Find your first material and then note the recipe.

Have those Spirits in your inventory....OR THE ALCOHOL LAMP WILL NOT SHOW UP

CLICK Lab> PIN Manufacture menu> open alcohol lamp menu> PIN Fill Alcohol Lamp with Spirits Menu

Separate them so you can see the manufacture menu and the listing of the spirits in your inventory.

On Manufacture menu click Essential Distillation> Place essential Material Into the Macerator

A box pops up, WOW! Click your first material to be made into an essence and click okay.

On the spirits Menu, add the spirits listed for that material for a total of 10 spirits added to Alchohol Lamp.

Back on Manufacture menu, click Essential Distillation again and click START ESSENTIAL DISTILLATION.

Wait two minutes. Sorry, no stat boost will help here.

A message in main will tell you when you have made your essence and how many drops it made. If you have made the number of drops you need for your calibration lab, move on to next section, if not...repeat this section with same material.

Make all of your essences with their spirits. Depending on the quality of your essences, you WILL need to make multiple distillations of the same material.

YOU NEED OF EACH ESSENCE:

  • 7 drops with a Level 3 Calibration on the lab you make the essential mixture in,
  • 8 drops in a level 2 Calibration Lab,
  • 9 drops in a level 1 Calibration lab,
  • 10 drops in an uncalibrated lab.

CALIBRATION IS NOT THE SAME AS UPGRADE LEVEL


Once your essences are made, TAKE them from the lab. Make sure you have the right number of drops for your calibration lab! You should have ALL 5 essences with required number of drops in your inventory BEFORE STARTING NEXT SECTION.

MAKING ESSENTIAL MIXTURES

Now go to Lab>Manufacture>PIN Essential Mixture Menu>PIN the Add Essence to Compound Menu AND separate them so you can see them both. You should see 5 essence names in the add essence menu.

On Add Essence menu, CLICK ONCE ON EACH ESSENCE IN THE ORDER OF THE RECIPE.

Click Mix Compound on Essential Mixture menu.

A naming box pops up, WOW!

  • A note about naming:

GOOD NAME: Maat As+Bi- (OR) Ar-Sw+Bi-SET

(you may nix the extra ++'s or --'s from the recipe as long as you have the name of the EXTRACT in the title. Make sure to keep at least one!

BAD NAME: ANYTHING ELSE (I cannot tell you how many times I have wandered away or taken a phone call and then gone Which one are you? when I came back. PROPER NAMING IS KEY

NAME YOUR EXTRACT PROPERLY and click okay.

TAKE YOUR ESSENTIAL MIXTURE FROM THE LAB.

FINAL STEP

Go to the lab where you wrote down your requirements.

Click lab> Manufacture> EXTRACTS> and your extract's name

Choose the proper compound mixture you named properly.

Click okay.

Check your inventory for three drops of your extract.

Voila! Done!
