Jail for the Greater Good

Jail for the Greater Good by Dreasimy

As citizens of Egypt have trusted Demi-Pharaohs with harsh consequences such as Bans, they should be given less harsh options for when the situation calls for it such as Jail. Jail can be useful for a cooling off period and to give those who have wronged society an opportunity to give back to the community at large (both in and out of game).

Jail sentences shall be initiated by a Demi-Pharaoh simply by typing in a name into a special designed interface (i.e. there is no need to physically click on the player) and there are 5 jail sentences available but they must be used in order from shortest to longest for each offender. The sentences available are: 1 hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days.

Jail shall be a new construct consisting of a shard of the Dragon's Tale game where no other 'players' shall have access except those players who are jailed. The jailed shall serve their sentence in an online state in that game or 'jail' until their time is up or they have accrued enough Bitcoins to pay off their bail. Bail is 2 Bitcoins for every hour of the sentence. Upon entrance to the special jail version of Dragon's Tale, the offenders shall be given house money equal to 1 Bitcoin for each of the hours of their sentence for use during their sentence. At the end of their sentence or when they have reached their bail, the entire Jailed Player's Bitcoin house account is then surrendered back to the house where it will then be documented as the amount that character earned during their jailed time and will be donated to charity. This amount and the player name will be reported on System in A Tale in the Desert on the shard the player originated from.

The designated charity for Tale VI of A Tale in the Desert shall be the Dream Foundation (The first and largest wish-granting organization for adults with life-limiting illness, they have a very high rating on Charity Navigator.)

Sink or Swim

Sink or Swim

Egyptians clamor for resources protected by a barrier of water at an early age. Some refuse to wait for access that may come later even though it may be wise to do so. For those who refuse to wait, they can throw themselves into the river and see if they have a natural affinity for water.

There is a certain small percentage of the desert-dwelling population that has this ability at birth. Alas, scientists have lost records of which families carry the gene. The only way to know is to cast oneself into the roiling river. Within a few seconds you and those on the shore will know if you have the aptitude. You will either sink or swim. If you swim, you shall have the swimming ability immediately. If you sink, you will die, immediately.

There are those, who when death seems sure, see a sudden shift in tide, and either through the help of the Gods or their own lucky countenance, reach shore, but not unscathed. These folks are scarred for life with a permanent loss of 2 to a randomly designated statistic. These people have learned from their experience however and can swim. It has been found they can counteract the malady of their watery injury by consuming cabbage juice once per month. Should a month's dose be missed, the injury becomes permanent with no recourse but to compensate through other means.

(It is suggested that the instant ability to swim or die should be VERY rare. Most who try this should end up with the debilitating injury.)
